Addicted to MakeUp? Me Too. The Reasons I Just Can’t Stop!

Why am I so addicted to makeup? I’m sure that there are people out there can pass by a chemist or a departments store and not pop in to check out the latest foundation or nail varnish. But me? I just love the stuff, and these are the reasons why.

It hides our Imperfections
Well, anything that hides our imperfections and can make us looks a little bit more like that idea of ourselves that we have in our heads is a good thing in my book. Makeup is so sophisticated now; you can get color correcting concealers, highlighters and brow pencils to cover skin conditions and imperfections. If you have a skin complaint, it’s a good idea to speak to a dermatologist like Belcara Health, to find the most efficient treatments and advice on which makeups to use.

They Put it in such Cute Boxes
Why do they insist on putting it in such pretty boxes and tubes? I’m sure it would be so much easier to resist if it looked boring and ugly on the outside. As it is, the packaging lures you in and then when you see that the product is good, you’re hooked, and they have a sale! Seriously though some makeup packaging is soo cool, it almost supersedes the product itself. Think of the
Christian Louboutin Loubilaque vials that you can wear around your neck. Or how about the Revolution blusher boxes that are adorable little cardboard hearts? So cute!

Everyone on Youtube is talking about it
Its pretty hard to not be addicted to makeup when half of Youtube is always making videos about it. You get to see the newest products and how well they work, along with real people opinions. This is a potent mix, and, of course, you end up wanting to try the product for yourself. Then you have the culture of the makeup blogger themselves. The ones with the most hits are fascinating characters and often have makeup lines like Kat Von D and Jeffree Star. Oh, and speaking of those to a little bit of drama never does your brand any harm does it, guys?

It Smells so Nice
Another thing that is so addictive about make up is that they make it small so nice. If a lipstick is just ok, and it smells like sweets, then I just have to have it. The same with scented nail polishes and lip glosses! Of course, you don’t always want a strong smelling product. It’s better if foundation smells neutral. The goes for eyeshadows for the most part. Otherwise, you have all these differences scents on your face, and it would be way too much!

Important to be on Trend
The primary reason why makeup is so addictive is that the trends change so quickly these days. Social media has a lot to do with this. Star and celebrities like Kylie Jenner often promote a look and then everyone wants to copy it. A good way of doing this is by buying their makeup products and painting your face in a similar way to them. If you don’t keep up with the trends like liquid lipstick, it is very easy to be out of date in a flash, and no one wants that!
