Today’s a double whammy day. I’ll be reviewing two products from Real Techniques: the Miracle Complexion Sponge and the Silicone Liner Brush. If you are unfamiliar with the brand Real Techniques, I suggest you look into it right away. Sisters Sam and Nic Chapman are the stars of the UK’s No. 1 YouTube beauty channel, Pixiwoo. The sisters have a combined 30 years of experience, both starting their careers as makeup artists soon after their sixteenth birthdays, working countless fashion shows, red carpets, editorials and collaborating with some of the top fashion photographers and magazines in the world.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Optimize your beauty routine with this 3-in-1 multi-functional sponge. Rounded sides blend large areas of the face with a repeated dabbing or “stippling” motion. The precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections. The flat edge is for the contours around the eyes and nose. Its versatile design evenly blends makeup for a smooth, enhanced finish. Use with your favourite foundation to help reduce the appearance of pores.
-I love the flat edge of the sponge because it’s perfect for contouring
-It’s very soft and bouncy but not as bouncy as the Beauty Blender
-Expands quite well once dampened and blends my foundation without any trouble
-Much more affordable than the Beauty Blender and it’s the closet alternative on the market at the moment
-Holds onto more water and product, meaning that I had to use more foundation to get the coverage that I want
-Make sure you squeeze all the water out of it before using with your foundation, otherwise the foundation/concealer will be wet and very slippery
-I still prefer my Beauty Blender because it’s just more superior when it comes to creating that flawless finish. However, if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, then THIS sponge is the closet thing you’ll get! It’s only around $10 CAD, which is half of the Beauty Blender
Conclusion: This is a great alternative for the Beauty Blender, but in my opinion, the Beauty Blender is still superior.
