Guess where I’m jet setting off to with Revlon? To Stockholm! Okay, while I really be setting foot in an airplane, my makeup is inspired by the styles and trends of Stockholm. You know what’s the best part of this look? You’ll also get a chance to win everything that I have used to recreate this Revlon look for yourself! (Stay tune until the very end to find out how you can enter)
Here is the little passport that Revlon sent me along with the step by step instructions on how to create the Stockholm inspired look. Here are all the products that I used: Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks in Onyx and Bone ($3.49 each), Revlon Color Stay Skinny Liquid Liner in Blackout ($10.49), Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara in Blackest Black ($10.49), Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in Stockholm Chic ($13.59), and Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy in Double Down, Ace of Spades and Diamond Top Coat ($8.39 each)
Here is the Stockholm look! I personally am in love with the lip colour! It’s very subtle and can be worn on a regular basis. Here are the steps on how you can achieve the look:
1) Sweep Bone over your entire lid and apply liner from the middle of the lash line outwards. Extend the line straight past the eye’s outer corner.
2) Apply Onyx starting at the inner corner of the eye meeting the existing liquid liner at the center of the lid. Coat lashes with mascara.
3) Glide Stockholm Chic onto lips for a bold finish.
4) Complete the look with Ace of Spades or Double Down before applying top coat.
I’m going to briefly review some of the Revlon products that I’ve used. Some, surprisingly blew my expectations out of the waters and others, not so much. Let’s take a look!
Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in Stockholm Chic
I am shocked at how much I love this Moisture Stain! Remember I said how much I loved the one by Maybelline before? Well, it has just been replaced! This one not only has the function of a stain but at the same time it’s quote moisturizing. Now, don’t get my wrong, it’s still not a balm/gloss but it’s probably the most moisturizing lip stain that I’ve tried to date. I love it so much that I bought a few more…hopefully I’ll get on reviewing them soon.
The wear time is around 5 hours before I need to reapply due to a lack of moisture. However, the colour still stays on my lips due to the stain. Here is the swatch.
Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara in Blackest Black
This is another product that surprised me. By this time, you probably know my terrible luck with mascaras. With my stubby, straight, Asian-lashes, it’s rare for me to find a fitting mascara. However, this mascara is quite amazing. Not only does it lengthens but my curls are kept curled all day long. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the photo below!
I have short lashes, so this is as good as it gets! *wink* No wonder I need false lashes.
Revlon Color Stay Skinny Liquid Liner in Blackout
As as avid user of liquid liners, I am impressed by this one by Revlon. The pigmentation is very good and the liner is one of the thinnest ones that I’ve ever used. But at the same time, it is also a downfall because it takes a longer time to create a thicker line. However, if you’re new to using liquid liner, this one is quite easy to get a use to.
Stays all day on my eyes without giving me panda eyes…that’s an extra point in my books.
Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks in Onyx and Bone
These are probably the most affordable single shadows on the market at the moment. They are also highly customizable since you can just attach them together with a click or detach them.
The downside is that not all colours have the same pigmentation and they are a bit chalky, which makes blending the colours a bit more frustrating.
Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy in Double Down, Ace of Spades and Diamond Top Coat
Another brand has come out with a gel-polish that doesn’t require a light. What I have to say is that the Revlon version the gel polish is the longest lasting ones that I’ve tried. I have had mine on my nails for over a week and still without a chip. Plus, the colour choices are much better than other brands.
However, the downside is that these polishes take a long time to dry! I had to repaint my nails 3/4 times because it kept on smudging. That can be very frustrating.
So this is it! The complete Stockholm look by Revlon. If you want to win all these items that I have mentioned above, you can check out the 2 simple rules to enter the contest:
