Some new items that have been released by EcoTools for 2014. I’m pretty excited that I got the chance to test out these items because EcoTools have always been a brand that I trust. It’s a brand that I know shares a passion for both beauty and the environment. They are inspired by beauty inside and out and in the world around us. Their products not only help women look their best but they also make earth-conscious choices.
Here are the items that I will be reviewing: The Pure Complexion Facial Sponge and the Skin Perfecting Brush.
Pure Complexion Facial Sponge
The new unique Pure Complexion Facial Sponge is handmade with 100 percent natural ingredients, including Konjac* vegetable fiber, for a better clean that reveals smooth, refreshed skin. It is dermatologist tested for use both morning and night to wash away dirt, oil and makeup, leaving skin glowing without over-drying or causing redness.
* Konjac is a highly renewable root plant indigenous to Asia. It’s traditionally used as a detoxifying dietary staple and as a naturally exfoliating sponge for delicate skin by the Japanese.
Remember my discovery of Konjac around a year ago? Well, I’m really happy that EcoTools is jumping onto this bandwagon. I’m a firm believer that using your hands alone is not sufficient for a deep cleanse. This little sponge definitely does the trick for me. I like to wet the sponge until it’s soft and then squeeze a little bit of my current favorite cleanser onto the sponge. Then I work to a lather and massage the sponge around my face. Aside from the deep cleanse, I really like the shape of the sponge because the angular feature allows me to easier work around my nose and other curves of my face. This is something that the previous Konjac sponge doesn’t offer. However, I do wish that it has a string so that I can hang it because storing this sponge is rather problematic.
-Provides a deep cleanse
-Can be used with any cleanser of your choice
-Angular shaped that can easily reach any curves on my face
-No string for hanging, which can be difficult for storage
-More pricey than other konjac sponges on the market

I am really surprise at how soft the bristles are. Even though it has synthetic bristles, it feels amazing on my skin. It’s very soft and plush. Though the density of the brush is not thicker than other brushes, but it’s nice enough to do it’s job. This brush is meant to be used with bb/cc cream and it’s supposed to create a very natural look. However, it doesn’t do the job for me. I tried it with both bb/cc cream but it’s just not as smooth or natural as my Beauty Blender.
Another thing that I really disliked about this brush is that it soaks up product liked crazy. Normally, I use around a pump of foundation to cover my face, however, with this brush, I used around 3! It’s insane how much it sucks up all the product. I think it’s also because the brush actually thinned out the foundation so maybe that’s why I needed twice the amount of product.
-Bristles feel like silk
-Absorbs too much product
-Thins out foundation/bb cream
-Finish now as smooth as my Beauty Blender
