Beautyblender: I chose the black sponge because I figured if it’s going to get dirty anyways, might as well be black…haha! So here’s the summary of what I love about the Beautyblender sponge:

-Gives a great seamless finish with no streaky finishing: I can honestly say that this is the best applicator I have ever tried! It honestly works great with any foundation, especially when the sponge is a little bit wet. It expands to about double it size once it’s wet.
-Texture of the sponge is suede, thus feels great on the skin and makes the foundation go on smoothly. It builds the perfect medium coverage that I need.
-Very easy to use and easy to clean with the Beautyblender Solid Cleanser.

-It is rather expensive (for a sponge), which is the reason why I have waited so long to purchase this item. However, seeing the amazing result, I can easily say that I will be repurchasing this probably in 6 month’s time. This sponge is very durable.
-Absorbs slightly more foundation than brushes.

Solid Sponge Cleanser:
This is how the sponge looks like after a week’s use. I usually clean the sponge once every week. Inside the container is the circular shaped cleanser (similar to a bar of soap) and a “drip tray” that keeps the soap elevated in order to drain the water. Here are my thoughts on the cleanser:

-The results were awesome—honestly exceeded my expectations!
-Very easy to use and cleans amazingly. It is easy to pick up with the dampened sponge and also works up to a good lather. The lather than can be easily worked through the sponge and to cleanse it. (Refer the the photo on how I go about cleaning my sponge – you can clearly see how how much of the foundation is being extracted from the sponge)
-Multipurpose: Not only can it work with Beautyblender but it can also be used to clean brushes in the same way.
-The scent of the solid cleanser is very soap-like and fresh smelling.

-A little pricey at around $17.00 CAD per cleanser, but it’s quite worth it because I’ve used mine for over 4 months now.

Overall, I LOVE these two products and have been using them religiously! These are investments that I am wiling to make.
