Those who have been following me from the beginning know how much I love Tsubasa Masukawa and what a huge fan I am of the entire Dolly Wink collection that she produces. Not to mention, how much I enjoy Japanese cosmetics in general. It seems like every time I venture back into Asian, I can’t help but to pick up more Dolly Wink products. My last trip to Hong Kong in December was no exception. This liquid eyeliner (with the original packaging) has been my HG eyeliner for the past 4 years and it still is! (First review here). Now Tsubasa has changed the packaging (Otona Collection) of the liner since it’s original debut back in 2009.

I’m going to start with the obvious. The packaging is very different from the original pink, polka dot and bow look. It’s more mature than before because Tsubasa is going for the otona look, which means grown up/adult. She’s venturing away from the overly kawaii feel to the brand and to be honest, I love it! Maybe it’s the fact that I’m also no longer that 18 year old in high school, but I think the new packaging has a sense of elegance that the older packaging lacks.

The new liner is just as fantastic as the original. It’s waterproof and sweat-proof, which is great for oily types of skin and even for rainy days. Plus, it can be easily remove with warm water, which makes it very gentle on the eyes. I use a liquid eyeliner on a daily basis, so I need to make sure that it doesn’t smudge on me at the end of the night. And this liner, truly delivers all my expectations.

I love the tip! The ending is very, very thin and soft so it allows you to draw extremely thin lines which are perfect for gyaru make up! I find that the tip is even thinner than the original version.

-Adorable packaging in comparison to any other liquid eyeliners
-Easy to make thin/thick lines: easy to control
-Colour is very vibrant and dark
-Smudge proof and water proof
-Dries very quickly
-No panda eyes at the end of the day

-Hard to find: can be purchase online or at local Asian malls
-Pricey since it’s imported (On average, around $20 CAD): but I will still repurchase because I have yet to find a better liquid eyeliner
