I like to use the colors in the trio as a highlighter (lightest shade), over-the-lid (medium shade) and then crease color (darkest shade).
These eyeshadow trios really reminds me of some of my favorite glitter eyeshadows of all time, such as the Eyeshadow Studio by Maybelline or some of the Japanese brands such as Kate or Majolica Majorca. So you can probably imagine my excitement to try these shadows. These shadows are indeed very glittery but there’s only a minimal amount of fall out. Each palette comes in a square and compact plastic container that makes it great for traveling. I really like the sizes of these palettes because they are just the right size to use with a brush. Sometimes I find with smaller eyeshadow palettes, the pan itself is too small and thus, I can never use an eyeshadow brush to get the colors. I don’t have the same problem with these palettes by Avon.
I’m going to talk a little bit about each palette, starting with my favorite one to the least favorite.

Khaki Chic – This one is my favorite one of the 4 that I received from Avon. I think in general I really gravitate towards the gold and the deep greens. It’s very blendable and I think it suits brown eyes really well. I’ve been wearing this palette religiously.

Sweetheart Plum – I love love love this purple shade. It’s very pigmented and very silky. These colors can blend really nicely to make the eyes pop. I think this palette is going to be perfect for any special occasion.

Sultry Smoke – This is a great palette for creating the perfect smokey eyes. The matte black shadow is great for contrasting the other shimmer colors in this palette. I love using this palette for a night out in the city.

Neutral Haze – This is my least favorite trio out of the ones because the colors just do not really stand out to me. I’m usually not a big fan of light pinks for an eyeshadow color and I find this palette to be more chalky than the other ones. However, the white shadow in this palette is my favorite for highlighting. It has just the right amount of shimmer.
Overall, I like these palettes but I don’t love them nor can they replace some of my color shimmer shadows. Though the colors are pigmented but they are not the most pigmented shadows that I’ve tried. I don’t agree that it can be worn for hours without creasing especially not without a primer. I’m also not too fond of the price tag as well. The new Avon New Eye Dimensions Eyeshadow will be available in March 2014 for $10 CAD each.
