Purse Review: Mansur Gavriel Tan Mini Mini Bucket Bag

Has it already been 3 years since my last purse review post? Haha, I wish I could say that it’s because I haven’t purchased a new bag since 2014…but of course, we all know that’s not possible. Well, I’m going to attempt to get these purse reviews up and running around again by starting with my most recent purchase, the Mansur Gavirel Mini Mini Bucket Bag.

Mansur Gavriel presents high quality, Italian made products with great attention to material, color and detail. Designed in new york city and produced in Italy, Mansur Gavriel was founded by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel in 2012.

Name: Tan Mini Mini Bucket Bag

Exterior: Structured vegetable-tanned leather bucket bag in ‘cammello’ tan. Self-tie drawstring at throat, thus, it’s an open bag without a zip closure.

Interior: Leather interior in ‘rosa’ pink – no extra pocket or insert.

Functionality: Adjustable shoulder strap with post-stud fastening – works as a cross-body bag.

Weight: Very light – This bag is very thin and light, which isn’t to say it is not durable. It’s actually very stiff.

Price: $475 CAD

What I love about the Bag: It has such a simple but yet classic design. I love bucket bags and I honestly think that the mini mini is the perfect size for me. I am really glad I waited until they release the two smaller versions before buying their infamous bucket bag. The mini mini is perfect for those who don’t like to carry a lot of things in their bag. (As you can see the photo above, I still have some space in the bag after all my essentials) It can fit the essentials like phone, wallet, keys, a little makeup. But if you want to carry an iPad, water bottle or a planner, then the mini size would be more ideal.

What I don’t like about the Bag: This bag will scratch very easily; it even states so in the care card. Haha! Vegetable tanned leather will not remain pristine and sleek. I know the lighter colour will probably be worst because the flaws will be even more apparent. To care for the bag at home, you can find commercial products in drugstores to clean and polish the leather. I would also suggest not to take out the bag when it rains.

All in all, I love this bag for my everyday use and fits my style perfectly. Lastly, I don’t think you’ll need more than one bucket bag of the same size in your bag collection – so choose your colour wisely.
