OPI announces the launch of nine new limited edition nail lacquers inspired by some of the most recognized brands of The Coca-Cola Company. Coca-Cola by OPI offers a range of colors and hues representing everything from classic red for Coca-Cola to metallic silver for Diet Coke, dark red and black for Coke Zero, black cherry for Cherry Coke, cream and warm pink for Vanilla Coke, shimmering citrus green for Sprite and glitter-packed orange and deep purple for Fanta Orange and Fanta Grape.
Here are the 3 colors that were sent to me:
Coca-Cola Red (inspired by Coca-Cola): Classic red – always in style, always perfect.
My Signature is “DC” (inspired by Diet Coke): My initial impression? This shimmery silver is just “write!”
Today I Accomplished Zero (inspired by Coke Zero): Dramatic black with effervescent red sparkle is a total must-do.
My Signature is “DC” (inspired by Diet Coke)
I’m going to start off with my favorite colour, which is this silver colour that is inspired by Diet Coke. To be honest, I thought this will be my least favorite out of the 3 because I tend to stay away from metallics/golds/silvers for my nails. However, this one is really pleasant. I thought it’s going to be very bright on my hands, but it’s actually not. I have also received plenty of compliments on it as well. The texture goes on really smooth and dries very quickly. Just two coat and it’s solid.
Coca-Cola Red (inspired by Coca-Cola)
The classic Coca-Cola red! My second favorite out of the 3. It’s a red that I think will flatter any skin tone. The formula is good and is easy to apply. I only use 2 coats to get to the right opacity. I think it’s also very close to the actual Coca-Cola red, which I think it’s great. But for me, I still would prefer to have a red that’s a little bit darker against my skin tone.
Today I Accomplished Zero (inspired by Coke Zero)
I had really high hopes for this but it just did not live to my expectations. I thought this was going to e a “sure win” in my books because a) it had glitter and b) black polish was my “go to” polish of all times! However, the glitter wasn’t apparent and it streaked a lot when I applied the polish. I put on so many layers and it still wasn’t as opaque as the bottle colour. I guess Coke Zero is just not meant for me.
Coca-Cola by OPI will be available in the beginning June 2014. Nail lacquer shades each feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application and will retail for $10.95 CAN at Professional Salons and Spas.
