I’m an avid user to primers. Remember this post here? I am also a huge fan of silicon based primer and this pore eraser is just that. I dare to say that this is actually quite comparable to my all-time favourite primer by Givenchy at only a fraction of the price. I bought this while I was in Hong Kong during Christmas and it came out to less than $10 CAD. I believe the retail price for this product is also around $10 CAD, but I just came back from Walmart and saw it on sale there for $6.97.

First off, I love the packaging. It’s cute and functional. The squeezable tube makes it easy to dispense the product and keep it hygienic. The hole is not extremely big so it’s very easy to control.

I would say the texture is not as thick as other primers, just the one by Givenchy or the L’Oreal Paris one. It is a clear silky gel and can be applied on bare skin or be used as a primer for foundation. Surprisingly, I find that it does create a matte base on the face. And also surprisingly, it does help to control my oily complexion. What I really like is that it even smooths out some of my dry patches caused by an old pimple. (Take note of how dry my hand is in this photo)

This is how the primer is able to smooth out the dryness. Now, I don’t think it completely minimizes or erases my pore, but even if it’s just controlling my oil, I think this primer is worth it. Since I have used and tested plenty of primers before, I can honestly say that this is one of my favourite ones. With its low price point and amazing results, the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is worth trying out.
