J± STATIONERIES FROM LOBLAWS (KOREAN STATIONERIES)

Mood [Hungry]
Currently Playing [Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me]

I recently stumbled across this very cute stationeries line inside my local super market, Loblaws. I usually don't shop at Loblaws for groceries but instead you'll find me in the Joe Fresh section of the store. Anyways, last week I was with JL looking for a Joe Fresh sweater when we came across with brand, J± (pronounced “J plus minus”). I tried doing research on the company but couldn't find anything about them. The stuff that they make are very Korean and Japanese inspired, which reminds me a lot of Muji stationaries but cheaper. Anyways, when I came across these sticky notes, I couldn't pass them up! They are SUPER ADORABLE and I can't wait to use them around the classroom! They range from $0.50 - $4 each, if you are interested, go check out the stationery section at your local Loblaws to get them.

L'OREAL HAIR COLOR GIVEAWAY

Mood [Sleepy]
Currently playing [None]

Today I'm going to be giving away two of the L'oreal home hair coloring kits (70 Pure Dark Blonde & LB01 Ultra Light Ash Blonde). I had received these two hair dyes during some of the L'oreal events in the past and I don't think I'll find a use for these colors. Since they are just going to be lying around my house anyways, I thought why not I give it to you girls (or guys) who may put these to a better use. Unfortunately, I'll NOT be able to mail these out since they are bulky and weights quite a bit.

Of course, this giveaway is for my readers ONLY! So please comment on this post your google follower/bloglovin' name. And if you are in the #Toronto area and wouldn't mind picking these up from me, please feel free to email me: day--dreaming@hotmail.com and tell me which color you would like to have. It will be a first come first serve basis and please, two hair kits = two winners so don't be greedy and ask for BOTH. Also, the location for the meet up will be of my convenience, if you cannot accommodate those areas, then I'll give the prize to another person.

LOVE PACKAGE ALL THE WAY FROM JAPAN

Mood [Enlighten]
Currently Playing [劉力揚 - 崇拜你]

One of my best friends, have moved to Japan after graduation to take part in the JET program. On one side, I'm very happy for her but of course, a part of me is sad that she's leaving me. She surprised me during my birthday week with this love package filled with stickers, candies, Christmas cards, facial masks and etc...The package was HUGE! :D

Here is a close up of the facial masks. They are all made in Korea and there are some very odd ones, like snake venom! I can't wait to try them out! :D

Japan Christmas cards are SO COOL! These ones can stand up into a Christmas tree! How kawaii is that? They can I'm thinking about sending a lucky reader one of these cards for Christmas! :D

And of course, here are all the yummy sweets! Like at ALL THE CANDIES! I can't wait to try them all out. She also included an orange Fanta flavour of Hi-Chews! They definitely don't have this flavour in Toronto! So I'm super excited to try it out! And also the melon caramel candy from Hokkaido (北海道).

~THANK YOU FLORENCE! ^__^

HAIR BUN

Mood [Happy]
Currently Playing [None]

Vivienne Tam two-tone leather jacket (similar here), Joe Fresh striped dress, Forever 21 booties (similar here) & earrings & purse, Deena & Ozzy (Urban Outfitters) scarf (other prints available here & here)

Since I had started working full time in the past month, the amount of time that I get in the morning to get ready had shrink drastically. So you can probably imagine my contentment when I discovered these large hair doughnuts/buns from ASOS. I quickly bought them to try out and to my surprise, they are so EASY to use! It takes me less than 3 minutes to put my hair up in this bun and it even saves me the time of blow drying my hair. It's chic and sophisticated, perfect for every teacher ;) I simply put my hair up in a ponytail and then put the doughnut around my ponytail. Then I spread my hair around the doughnut and secure everything with a thin elastic band. Any fly away hair, I'll just pin them in with a bobby pin. Easy as 1, 2, 3 and I'm out the door! :) There are also smaller versions of the buns available on ASOS here if you don't like the HUGE buns!

CURRENT OCTOBER 2012 FAVOURITES

Mood [Blah]
Currently Playing [None]

Welcome to my first "Favourites" post! I'm thinking about creating these mini posts for my current favourites from now on because I have realized that sometimes writing a full review just take too long. Then as a result of my procrastination, a lot of items end up NOT getting reviewed. Thus, it's not really fair to those items. Plus, it also saves you the time from reading lengthy reviews. So I've decided to do, possibly monthly, favourites posts. That way the posts will be shorter and yet, I can still tell you all of the items that I've been loving for the current month. So without further ado, here are my current favourite items:

Almay Smart Shade Anti-Aging Makeup Base: Light/Medium
I had received this from a friend for my birthday 2 weeks ago and I've been using this religiously ever since! The texture of this foundation is very, very similar to the L'oreal BB Cream that I had reviewed here. It's one of those foundation that comes out white and then adjusts to your skin colour. Remember the only complaint that I had about the L'oreal one was that there wasn't enough coverage? Well, this Almay one TOTALLY SOLVES this problem! It glides on my face like butter, blends so smoothly and has amazing coverage! (Take a look at the photo below!) I thank my friend so much for introducing this product into my life! :) Definitely worth the $13-$16 price tag!

Lancome Tonique Pure Focus Oil Control Mattifying Toner
I had purchased this at the L'oreal Warehouse Sale in Toronto a few weeks ago for only $15. Once again, another product that I've been using regularly. Now that I'm off of my acne medication, my face has started to become oily again. **GROSS** So I thought I would give this toner a try! I really do think that this mattifies my face very well without over drying it. Now it doesn't completely gets rid of all my oil, but it does control it for a few more extra hours. It's no miracle water, but I'd say it does what it says it does pretty well for just a toner. I'd definitely buy again even if the full price is $30 CAD.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15: Sugar clear in brown case
I got this from Sephora during my birthday two weeks ago. As you all know, it's the beauty insider gift for 2012. I actually really like this. It does have a very heavy lemon-sugar kinda scent to it, which can be really irritating for some people. However, I find it to be very tolerable. It tastes really "sweet" as well, just like sugar! :) Plus, I find it really moisturizing and perfect for the winter time. However, not sure if I'm willing to pay $25 CAD for the full size item though.

Garnier 2 in 1 Tinted Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller: Light

I think this is my favorite item this month! Since I've been working a full time job and 3 other part time jobs on the side, it's been a toll on my eyes! I'm starting to look more and more like a panda! :( I love how this product is like a 2 in 1: it moisturizing eye cream & a cooling roller ball: refreshes and hydrates tired-looking eyes and it has mineral enriched pigments it instantly covers dark circles. SCORE! The product does come out very watery but it's very easy to blend. Since the colour is very light, it brings a lot of light into the under eye area. Therefore, it'll make your eyes appear brighter. It has the same effect as adding white eyeshadow at the tear ducts. Plus, I couldn't be happier when I got this at the L'oreal Warehouse Sale for a mere $5! :)

Forever 21 color-block faux fur coat (similar here & here) & gold chained quilted purse (Marc Jacobs version here), H&M pants (similar here), H&M x Comme des Garçons polka dots shirt (similar here), My Spring brown oxfords (similar here)

With my regular teaching routine and the sudden drop in temperature, my outfits have seemingly become more unoriginal and a little dull. Don't you think?

[REVIEW] - MISSHA M VITA BB CREAM (MATTE)

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [None]

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A mattifying BB cream formulated with skin-soothing Grapefruit Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract and Anti Shadow Complex to pacify and clarify troubled skin. Jewelry Complex creates a brighter complexion while Nano Vita Complex enhances skin vitality. Recommended for sensitive skin types.

FOR BEST RESULT
Spread a small amount of cream on face to conceal blemishes and improve skin texture.

INGREDIENTS
Skin soothing ingredients of Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract and Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract and Anti Shadow Complex make the skin calming, clarify and clear, and Jewelry Complex makes the skin bright.

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP THIS PRODUCT
Out of all the Asian bb creams that I have tried before, I must say that I'm the most disappointed at this one. First of all, it only comes in one shade until the Perfect Cover Missha BB cream and the Signature one from Missha. I'm happy that I had purchased the smaller tube (20 ml) instead of the 50 ml tube. For someone like me with a really oily skin this sounded promising. However, I did not notice any matting effect of this BB Cream at all. I even had the feeling it was quite the opposite. My skin felt more greasy at the end of the day.
The texture of the bb cream is very similar to all the other Missha bb creams. It's very thick, thus, it does give a full coverage. As you can tell from the photo above, the cream is thick! However, what I really disliked about this product is that it didn't go on as smoothly as the Perfect Cover one. The thick texture makes it hard to apply the cream on your face evenly. I would argue that it's even a tad bit thicker than the Perfect Cover. Plus, the one colour choice just did not match my skin. It's just far too light for me. This bb cream also pulls a bit gray in comparison to other bb creams. I have more of a hello undertone to my skin, thus, it's without a doubt not suitable for me. I would have to mix it with foundation to make it work for me, but then why would I use a bb cream then?

Overall, I would not recommend this product. I would pay just a little bit more to get the higher end Missha bb creams. I sometimes believe that what you pay is what you get. And since this bb cream is one of the cheapest bb cream in the whole line of Missha bb creams. I do think that it really affects the results. I would recommend the Missha Perfect Cover or the Missha Signature BB Creams over this one.

RATING
Product (1/5)
Cost (4/5) - It is much cheaper than some of the other Missha bb creams for $8.99 (20ml) tube.
Ease of Use (3/5) - Hard to blend
Packaging (4/5) - Pretty normal, I do like the squeezable tube

L'OREAL WAREHOUSE SALE FALL 2012

Mood [Tired]
Currently Playing [None]

Remember my last visit to this L'oreal sale over a year ago? Well, this time I didn't go as crazy. Mainly because I wanted to purchase gifts for my friends and I honestly have too much stuff. So in the end, I only purchased 3 items: Lancôme 'Ageless Minérale' Mineral Powder Set (Limited Edition), Lancôme Color Fever Plumper & Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller. The prices are pretty much the same as last year but the products are also the same! Plus, they didn't have any Shu Ueumura products this time around! :( OR they were all sold out already, I'm not too sure. But here the prices:

Lancôme 'Ageless Minérale' Mineral Powder Set (Limited Edition) - $30: Retails for $65 (This was the BEST deal because each item retails for over $30!)
Lancôme Color Fever Plumper Gloss - $12.50 (Retails for $29)
Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller - $5 (I've always wanted to try this!)

I think the Lancôme eyeshadow palettes are only $16.50 at the sale this time around, while last year they were $20. So I guess it's a good thing that the prices are dropping and they do have a lot of color sections. Here are some more information about the sale:

NEW PLANS FOR THE NEW MONTH: WORKING ON MY VANITY

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me]

Happy October! I can already sense that it's going to be a great month. October is the best time of the year because it's my birthday month and it so happens to be JL's birthday month as well. Not to mention, a LOT of my friends' birthdays are also in October. So it's very exciting! Anyways, this post is going to be mostly a personal update on my life. (Please excuse the quality of these photos, they are taken from my Instagram! @thiswasforever)

So I woke up one morning feeling the urgency to change my room around. Probably because I couldn't stay my desk and floor looking like a horrific, hot mess. Then I remember my idea of making a vanity table out of my current desk since I don't really use the desk for work. (I have another laptop table where I do most of my work) For those who do not know, I actually do my makeup up and hair on the...get ready...FLOOR! I have all my makeup in a train case and some hanging in a huge travel bag-thing behind the door. Believe it or not, I'm actually a REALLY messy person when it comes to my room. Plus, I never saw the need to really decorate my room since I plan on moving out soon?...when I get married! ;)

Anyways, there's still a long way to go but I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I originally wanted these acrylic shelves/drawers from Ebay. They were around $50 for 3 drawers, so I thought the price tag was a little steep. But then I got these amazing acrylic containers from Dollarama (a local "dollar" store that sells stuff ranging from $1-3) They are so perfect for makeup and it looks very decent considering it only cost $1 per container. I'm going to have to go back to buy another yet of these. I need another row. I don't know how long this is going to take me because since I have a morning job now (on top of my other 3 part time jobs), I'm trying really hard to effectively manage my time. But once it's COMPLETE, I'll be sure to blog about it again!

Some other amazing discoveries in October from Dollarama. They sell Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes! For only $2 too! Amazing deal since they retail for around $7! :) Remember I reviewed this line of nail polishes before here and I LOVED them? Can't wait to try these out! I also saw Elf liquid eyeliners for $1.50! I knew that they had always sold Elf products but I was pretty happy to see these eyeliners since I LOVE liquid liners! ~
