Chapel is a local clothes and accessory label, Chapel stores around Hong Kong are known for their affordability - men's and women's clothes and jewellery start as low as HKD50 each. Their clothes are mostly simple basics, but it's their cute accessories that everyone loves. Though they are a franchise, the biggest variety of stuff is found at their Tsim Sha Tsui stores.
“The price is low for what they are because we use ‘stock fabrics’,” says Yeung. Stock fabrics are excess fabrics that are global super brands’ leftovers. The good quality textiles are sourced by Chapel’s dedicated team of fabric researchers who scour the markets and factories of Southern China. Yeung is also unafraid of employing fresh fashion design graduates. “They are young and they know what our target customers want.”

Chapel’s designers are inspired by classic, simple and comfortable clothing that is suitable for all weather conditions. Everything in the store is very Comme des Garçon like. They have a focus on languid and free-flowing designs that come in a variety of colours and cuts. This cut-out trench coat that I bought is a prime example. It was a mere $280 HKD = around $30 CAD. Even though the store is a bit difficult to find, but it's well-worth the trip because most, if not all, of the pieces you can never find anywhere else! I promise I'll do a more detail post of the store the next time I visit Hong Kong! I really regret not reviewing it this past summer when I had the chance! :(

Insider tip: In Tsim Sha Tsui, there are actually two Chapel stores opposite each other - one is on Granville Road, where the men's clothes and women's accessories are. The other is above Ramada Hotel Kowloon, which is just opposite and around the corner, and where you'll find women's clothes and even more accessories.

Just before I walked out of Winners last month, I spotted this jacket on a mannequin and I had to purchase it right away. I've been looking for a two-tone trench coat for the longest time (I blame Burberry Prorsum) and I was beyond thrilled to have spotted this. Of course, I can't take out $3,000 to buy the real thing, so this will have to suffice for now. It was the last one in my size too! I often take that as a sign from the gods that I should purchase whatever the item is. It's no wonder my wallet is always empty.

I wore this outfit yesterday to a shopping date to Yorkdale with my friend and blogger Jess. We never ended up buying anything from Topshop, but we both picked up the Urban Decay Naked Palette! YES, after waiting and wanting it for more than a year, I finally saw it at Shoppers Drug Mart and finally decided to purchase it. I will try to put together a tutorial featuring this palette sometime in the near future, just for you Jess ;) Check it out (photo taken with my Captivate, so please excuse the quality):

Also, I lightened my hair around two weeks ago. I actually bleached my hair and then coloured it again with an ash blonde colour. It's actually more copper now than before so I may go even lighter next time. I really want to go as blonde as Tsubasa's hair, but I'm still a little hesitant. Not sure if I can pull it off, what do you think?

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
I picked this product up when I went to the L'oreal Warehouse Sale during the beginning of this month. I had first wanted to try it out when I saw it in Walmart but didn't want to pay over $5 (which is still pretty cheap) for it. Then when I saw it at the Sale for only $2, I couldn't resist. This is actually a nourishing and detangling treatment serum and let me just say that it WORKS! This is honestly the BEST detangler that I've ever used! I use it just before I blow dry my hair so that it'll be easier for me to brush through. Then I would spray some more on it after when my hair is all dry. I'm a really lazy person and I think having a spray bottle is much more convenient for me because I don't have to get my hands dirty. I hate having leave-ins that gets my hair and hands all oily, but this is definitely not the case for this.

After consistently using this for the past 2 weeks, I have noticed a huge difference in my hair! The ends of my hair are no longer as dry or damage as before. My hair is also super smooth and not greasy after using this. Plus, it's true that it doesn't weight my hair down, which means that I can spray continuously. I have already finished half the bottle in two weeks! I'm so addicted! It also has a really good smell, not too strong but not too faint. The product is also extremely cheap and it's so effective! I just regret not picking up another bottle or 2 at the sale. I think this is my HG hair product at the moment!

The Mocha Chocolate Mousse Cake that I made for JL's birthday last weekend. I'm pretty sure that there's more calories in this thing than in a cheeseburger. I loaded up on the icing and mousse just for JL because he's a huge chocolate fan! He actually requested a chocolate and coffee cake this year :D (And in case you didn't know, our birthdays are exactly one week apart)

The collection first came out last year in Japan and now Yui is making more new products for Melliesh. These lip glosses are suppose to be concealer + lipstick + gloss all in one tube! WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT

This is my second Melliesh lip-gloss that I have reviewed on my blog. You can find the first review here. Strawberry Milk is the Girly Milky Pink shade. The gloss is a darker shade of pink which makes me wonder why it's called "Strawberry Milk" when it really doesn't look like that at all. It's definitely a more "mature" colour in comparison to the other colours on the Melliesh line.

The applicator is a regular doe-foot applicator with a rather short handle. This allow the user to have better control. However, I must admit that the colour did not show up as nice as #06 because my natural lip colour is almost the same colour as the gloss. If you are interested, you can purchase Melliesh products either from Ebay or from other online stores for roughly $12-$15 CAD.

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT


This shade is definitely a foolproof shade that is safe for work. It's a very subtle pink that is okay to use on a regular basis. The colour shows up so nicely. This blush is pretty pigmented (more pigmented than Canmake powder blushes!) and with one swipe it's enough for my cheeks. The blush carries a reasonable amount of product, I highly recommend these if you have the chance to pick it up! The packaging is so cute! I don't think anyone can ever out-beat Japanese packaging. They just put so much effort into their packaging and it's just so hard to pass up! You can pick this up from Ebay ($18-$20 CAD) or now there's plenty of online store that carries Melliesh.
