LOVE PACKAGE FROM SHMUBERRY

Mood [Happy]
Currently Playing [None]

I recently did a beauty swap with fellow Canadian blogger (from Montreal), Marie Frédérique (Fred) of Shmuberry! I bought her tons of goodies from Hong Kong and these are all the goodies that she got for me from Korea! I'm super jealous that she was able to go to Korea! She's such a sweet heart and she knows me soooooooo well! She got me exactly what I wanted and much more! :D I swear I'll never run out of facial masks again! Haha ~

All the amazing face masks that I can't wait to test out!

The Etude House blush that I don't want to use because the puff is so CUTE!

A bling bear cell phone charm! She's so cute and even bought one for herself so we can match! :)

Missha Signature BB Cream, the only one that I don't have yet and want to try!

Her letter to me with her super neat handwriting! She wrote that her writing was messy but I couldn't see it! It was so much neater than mine ~

Lastly, this beauty notebook that she got for me because of course, Korea is known for producing the cutest stationery! Super kawaii ~ These are just some of the things that I wanted to highlight! She also packed me so much samples and goodies that I just can't possibly show it all in one post! I'm beyond ecstatic!

~THANK YOU FRED! ^__^

WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
This eye-shadow palette was my LIFE SAVER when I was in China 2 months ago! I purposely had left a lot of my eye shadows at home thinking that I would purchase more while I was in China. But who would have thought that cosmetics in China were so expensive? Thus, when kkcenterhk contacted me to review one of their eye-shadow palettes, I was beyond happy! First of all, I want to talk about the pigmentation of these shadows! Look at how pigmented they are!

These swatches are only with one swipe! Amazing! Plus, I love all these compact eye-shadow palettes because they make travelling so much easier! Especially since I was travelling all over China during the summer, this compact design made it extremely easy to carry 18 different shadows with me! Imagine all the look that you can create with 18 different colours? Numerous! Here is just one simple look that I created with the purple and the pink:

The only downside that I would say about these shadows is that they don't blend that easily. I would really have to rub my brush into it in order to get it to blend. But other than that the colours are great to work with. Plus, the palette only cost around $15 USD, which equals to less than $1 for each shadow! What a deal! If you are more of a matte shadow person, I would suggest looking around the site because they have TONS of eye-shadow palettes! Plus, the site stocks up on false lashes, wigs, hair extensions, and fashion pieces! You can see my past reviews from this company here and here and here. It's definitely worth checking out!

SOMETHING TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY

Mood [Sick]
Currently Playing [None]

I've been fighting off a really nasty cold for the past 2 days and this morning it escalated to a fever. I was so sick that I couldn't even get out of bed this morning to go to my placement. My world was grey and colourless this morning until I stumbled across this photo. I love cats and seeing this photo just make me want to cuddle all its cuteness! Hurray to the first thing that had put a smile to my face even though I've been so tired and sick! Remember "happiness resides not in posessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul" - Democritus. Hope you had a great day!

SUMMER SHOULD GET A SPEEDING TICKET

Liz Lisa top, Honey poncho, Forever 21 jeans, from Hong Kong flats, Ebay sunglasses, H&M hat

The weather in Toronto today was beyond beautiful. With a high of 24 and the sun shinning bright, it's hard to believe that it's already Fall. I dare to bring out the last bit of my unworn summer clothes before having to put them away for a year. Have this happened to you as well: when you've bought so much summer clothes just to realize that summer is much shorter than anticipated? It happens to me almost every summer because I've always felt the need to buy excess summer clothes in comparison to any of the other seasons. Maybe it's the fact that once winter hits Toronto, you'll rather stay warm than to look fashionable.

GOLD OBSESSED

Wilfred crop-top, Maple mesh leopard short-maxi dress, UP sandals, H&M hair ring & necklace, Forever 21 watch

I recently fell in love with anything gold. I'm not exactly sure when it started but it seems like it's all I've been purchasing lately. I just picked up this amazing gold hair ring from H&M today. I could hardly wait to quickly rip off the tag and slip it in between my hair. I'm obsessed. On an unrelated note, summer has officially come to an end as of today. It's time to retire my sandals and short shorts to bring on the sweaters and knits in order to survive the harsh Toronto winter. Farewell summer 2011!

If this is your idea of happiness
Then let's be clear
Those words of yours ain't working anymore

Cause I'm always giving
Here waiting while you're living
I need a new beginning
Oh I'm not the girl I used to be with you

You think maybe that I'm just so easy
You can come in and out my life like you please
But baby no (uh-oh)
Don't you know it takes more?

These are your everyday circle lenses. They are Japan top seller in natural-looking Category. Very ideal for Circle lens beginners, students and white collar working group who emphasized on level of comfort and still look relatively natural, even without make up. The color of lens would blend perfectly with your eyes. In sum, they are perfect for EVERY day usage.

These circle lenses are crazy when it comes to enlarging my eyes! They really do make my pupils look extra dolly and BIG! You can definitely see the major difference between my natural eye photo to the one with the circle lens in. I also do love how natural they look, which is rare because I usually like the more dramatic colours. However, I find that these are perfect for days in the office or in the classroom. They give a sparkle to your eyes without getting too much attention, which you don't really want in an office or classroom setting. *Don't want to appear to be "trying too hard" *cough*

Did I mention how comfortable these lenses are? Since they have a higher water content than most circle lenses, they do not dry out as quickly! They are even comfortable at the end of the day. Honestly, ever since I received these lenses, I have been wearing them non-stop just because of the comfort. Now that I'm back in school, it means that I'll be putting a lot of stress on my eyes because I'll be constantly staring at my computer screen. So these lenses are just perfect for my day-to-day student life. I'm just sad that I have to discard them soon because it's been more than 30 days now! :(

TORONTO L'OREAL WAREHOUSE SALE FALL 2011 & HAUL

Mood [Happy]
Currently Playing [林峰 - 赤地轉機]

What: L'Oreal Warehouse Sale (Fall 2011)
Brands: Lancome, Biotherm, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Cacharel, Vichy, La Roche-Posay, L'Oreal Professional, Redken, Matrix, L'Oreal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline
Date: September 17 - October 9, 2011
Time: Sat - 9am to 5pm, Sun - 10am to 5pm, Wed to Friday - 12pm to 8pm
Location: 342 Wildcat Rd, Toronto (Near York University)
Tickets: Unfortunately, it's a ticket only event. So ask around to see if any of your friends have tickets available or spaces left over! Or you can try purchasing them online on Kijiji. (Thank you Joyce for providing me with a ticket!) 1 ticket is valid for 2 people for 2 visits.

Wow! Can you believe the line-up at 8am?! Joyce and I both couldn't believe that people actually had blankets and tents! I think some people actually waited in line for a really long time! It's a good thing that we arrived an hour prior to the opening or else we would have waited for more than an hour! Joyce told me that last time when she arrived at 9am, she had to wait 2 hours before she could finally get in. So take my advice, GO EARLY!

This is the inside of the warehouse. (No photos are allowed inside, so I had to sneak this one with my phone while I was lining up to pay) It's a very, very small warehouse in comparison to MAC sale. Thus, they can only allow a certain amount of people into the sale at a time. It's also not as aggressive as the MAC sale, thus, you feel less tense about everything. Here are some of the prices that I remember for this year:

-Lancome, Biotherm, Vichy, La Roche Posay was about 50% off from retail price.
-Lancome quads are $20 and liquid foundation $25. They also have Juicy tubes, powder foundation and blush!
-Shu Uemura is available as well! I believe they had their Holiday-Christmas collection 2010 with Aya Takano but the eyeshadow palette was over $40, which I think it's not extremely worth it.
-Maybelline lipsticks $2.75, I was so tempted to get another backup of Pink Please
-Drugstore brands (Maybelline, L'oreal) are cheap! They range anything from $1.25-$4.25. They do have tons of shades and colours available as well. You can get anything from eyeshadow to lipstick to blushes to foundations! They have a huge variety!
-Mascaras (Voluminous, Telescopic, XXL, Falsies, Volume Express One By One, Lash Stiletto, Colossal)are available as well and they are around $3-4
-TONS of perfume and colonge gift sets that range from $28-$90 depending on the brand. I did notice a few YSL gift sets as well.
-Garnier hair products (Shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and etc) all for $2
-Box hair dyes! L'oreal around $6 and Garnier around $3

A quick glimpse of what I bought. I actually didn't pick up any of the drugstore products because I thought I would save on those and buy more of the Lancome stuff instead. I have tons of drugstore makeup already, so I might as well save it!

MY HAUL

1. Garnier hair dye - $3.50 each
2. Garnier leave-in conditioner for damaged and dry hair - $2.00
3. Ralph Lauren cologne set (birthday gift for my friend) - $28.25
4. Vichy Normaderm Triple Action Anti-Acne Hydrating Lotion and Purifying Cleansing Gel box set - $18.00
5. Lancome TEINT IDOLE ULTRA foundation - $24.25

6. Lancome eyeshadow palettes - $20.00 each

7. Lancome Hypnose Mascara set - $15.75

Total: $135.25 + tax = $152.83 ^___^

Overall, I'm very, very happy with my purchases. All the Lancome makeup are at 50% off the original price, which makes me smile a little! *Sigh* I have SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much stuff to review! I really need to work harder on my reviews! I'm seriously like a few months before with some reviews! //whack//

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP THIS PRODUCT
Finally, I'm doing a review! I know it's been more than 2 months since my last review. But now that I'm back in Toronto, I hope I'll be able to keep up with postings. So let's get right on to it...

I hate to be a bringer of bad news, but these nail polish stickers just did not work for me! I followed the instructions very closely and these only lasted for about 2 days on me. It definitely did not fulfilled its promise of lasting up to 10 days. It was a little hard to apply at first, but I got the hang of it after the first nail. However, the application process still required a lot of concentration and time. In the end, the amount of time I had spend on these stickers was equivalent to using regular nail polish with a quick dry topcoat. Furthermore, some bumps towards the edges were just impossible to get rid off no matter how much I tried to smooth it out (Refer to the photo below). It got really frustrating in the end!

They seemed like they were adhering pretty well, but even by the next morning they seemed a little loose. I started noticing significant tip wear after about a day. What had bothered me even more about these strips is the fact that they are pretty expensive for one-time usage. (Around $10 CAD per pack) Plus, even though the kit offers 8 different nail sizes, it is hard to find the perfect fit. I think that has to do with the fact that I have really small hands, fingers and nails. So most of the sizes were too big for me, which is such a bummer. But these ones are still better than the ones I had from Broadway, which were BEYOND TERRIBLE! The concept and idea of these stickers are great but Sally Hansen has needed improvements if they want this product to be flawless. Please don't get sucked in to all the cute designs and colours, this product is not worth it.

My zebra phone case to match my zebra nails. Can't you tell that I love animal prints?

RATING
Product (0/5) - I don't think it's worth the $10 at all
Cost (0/5) – Very expensive considering it's a one-time use
Ease of Use (2/5) - Not as easy as what they had advertised
Packaging (5/5)
