ES A218 FALSE LASHES (KKCENTERHK) REVIEW

Mood [Rushed]
Currently Playing [None]

ES A218 false lashes sponsored by kkcenterhk

These are the second set of lashes that were sponsored to me by kkcenterhk. (You can check out the first review of this company here). What I really like about these lashes is that they are really soft! When I have them on, I hardly notice that I've got false lashes on my eyes. It definitely doesn't weight down the eyes like some other synthetic false lashes. These lashes are also very easy to apply. Unlike most lashes, when I bend these lashes before apply, they would stay in their bended shape. This means that they shape my eyes perfectly and the outer and inner corner will not come off. Like in the middle of the day, you look in the mirror and see that the inner corner of the lashes are starting to come off. I hate it when that happens! But this has never happened to these lashes.

These lashes are also extremely affordable because the entire box of 10 lashes only cost $10.94 USD. That equals to almost $1 per pair, which is a lot cheaper than Ardell or Revlon lashes. They definitely opened up my eyes with a very natural feel. I really like how even though they are very thick, but on my eyes they look so natural! Overall, I would certainly recommend these false eyelashes, they look great! They look natural and yet glamorous and not too much over the top! Plus, $10.94 USD for 10, you really can't go wrong. Please check out kkcenterhk if you are looking for false eyelashes. Their prices are amazing and they have such a huge variety! Not to mention that they also have tons of stuff other than false lashes such as wigs, makeup, nail products and even fashion items! So what are you waiting for? :D

LIZ LISA & MICHAEL KORS

Mood [Hungry]
Currently Playing [林峯 - 潑墨桃花]

A few days ago, I was lucky enough to grabbed this amazing Liz Lisa shirt from the beautiful Emily's blog sale. (Not meee! Haha!) It's a shirt from their 2010 Spring collection and I remember seeing it in Hong Kong last summer and I regretted so much for not buying it! It was like a dream come true when I saw it on her blog sale! :D She also included one of those bow shaped velcro for your frindge (I have the regular ones and not the ones that are bow shaped!), which was super nice on her part. I really wasn't expecting anything else, thank you so much Emily!

I tweeted on Monday that I had purchased a new baby to add to my purse collection. Here it is, the Michael Kors Hamilton large tote in vanilla! I had first saw this purse on my friend, Jess' blog and fell in love with it! It's very unlike me to a) spent $379 (tax included) on a purse and b) buy a cream coloured purse. But I have been saving up for the past couple of months for a new wallet, so I had given up gettng the new wallet and instead for this purse instead. (I can still manage with my somewhat dirty Burberry wallet for the time being until I save enough money again) And the sales told me the wrong price for the purse, she said that it was an extra 15% off but apparently the sale didn't applied to the Hamilton bags. But she was nice enough to honour what she said to me when she found out that she had made a mistake. So I guess saving an extra 15% off gave me another reason to buy it! Haha! And the reason why I picked vanilla was because JL had really liked this colour comparing the other colours. He said that it's the only colour that apparent suits my "style". Yup, so now I have to be SUPER careful with this when I carry it around!

Lastly, a photo from outside my windows of yesterday's insane wind and rain storm! We lost electricity for a couple of minutes because of the crazy gusts of wind! This honestly reminds me of the typhoons in Hong Kong! I guess even the weather is preparing me for my departure! Haha!

OUTSIDE(R) EXHIBITION PHOTOS

Mood [Full]
Currently Playing [林峯 - 一次一次一次]

Forever 21 overall dress, from Hong Kong mini lolita hat & accessories, Walmart booties, Mcdonalds watch

Title: Constructed
Materials: c-prints and foamcore
Statement: The space around us is an artificial and constructed space, which also includes the gallery exhibition. My work will be build similar to how the exhibition will be constructed. It will question the fabrication of materials and the type of audience the work will reach. It brings together the ideas of fake and real. My final piece will be a compromise and agreement between sculpture and photography. The piece will demonstrate the roundness of sculpture but also have flat aspects of photography.

Thank you everyone who came out to the opening reception of Outside(r)! If you saw my twitter post, you'll realize how packed this small little gallery became. It was a great night of good laughter, good food, good wine and good art. (I stayed there for the full 4 hours!) I can't believe how fast this year has went by and how quickly this art show is already coming to an end. It felt like it was yesterday when all 18 of us were scrumbling to find a place to have this exhibition. It's been an amazing journey and I can't wait to have more shows next year! Special thanks to the following people who made my night extra special: AS, CC, CF, EP, FL, JK, JL, JL, JY, KL, KP, LS, TL.

I want to send a shoutout to Kristy from Monochromachic and Jess from Wild Tortoise. It was so great to meet Kristy for the first time after being BFs (blogger-friends) for so long! And it was just great to catch up with Jess again, who will always be my favourite shopping buddy! :)

PS, I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photos. If you follow my on twitter, you know that my lense for my Nikon D90 broke recently. So it's in the process of getting fixed =/ Thus, in the time being, I'm back to using my FujiFilm FinePix S9600

ARTIE: SHOP FOR ASIAN BEAUTY & COSMETICS

Mood [Sleepy]
Currently Playing [None]
(Read until the end of this post for an exclusive offer for THISWASFOREVER readers!) I always get asked a lot of questions from readers about where I can purchase Asian cosmetics and beauty products if I live outside of Asia or if I don't have an Asian mall near my area. Well, today I'm going to answer that question by sharing with you all this amazing online store that sells a whole bunch of Asian beauty products and cosmetics! They have everything from Dolly Wink eyelashes & makeup to Kose products to Tsubaki Head Spa shampoo/conditioner! (You guys know how much I loveeee the Tsubaki shampoo by Shiseido!) They also have my favourite hair dye from Palty, Milk Tea Brown!
Artie debuted last month in March of 2011 and their products include cosmetics, skin care products, hair care products and accesories which are mainly imported from Japan. Considering that the store is only one month old, they have very reasonable prices and a huge variety of items. They are a store located in the U.S. and they have a bilingual (Chinese and English) interface that provides detailed products' information and directions, which makes it easier for customers to learn more about their products.
Check out some of their products:
The downside is that Artie only ships to U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia. I hope that they will be able to expand their shipping service to the rest of the world in the future. They do have flat rate shipping costs, so I would suggest to try to combine shipping cost with a few friends in order to save some money. The shipping rates are as follows:

United States $5.45 flat rate standard shipping
(Free shipping on U.S. orders over $50)
Canada $13.45 flat rate standard shipping
United Kingdom $19.45 flat rate standard shipping
Australia $19.45 flat rate standard shipping
(Free shipping on international orders over $85)

EXCLUSIVE PROMOTION FOR THISWASFOREVER READERS
Don, the owner of Artie, was nice enough to set up a discount code (extra 5% off) for my readers that can be combined with the code above. You just have to type in "THISWASFOREVER" at the check out for a 15% discount in total with the combined discounts. This code will also expire on April 30, so make sure to use it before then :)

[REVIEW] - QUO VS THE BODY SHOP FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH

Mood [Hungry]
Currently Playing [Karen Chow & M. Dean - Train Tracks]

I recently decided to add a facial cleansing brush to my daily skin care routine because I felt like I wasn't getting enough manual exfoliation. Exfoliating is a very important step in a skin care routine because it not only remove excess dirt/oil but it helps remove dead skin cell on your face. By exfolicating, you'll be able to stimulate circulation and improve skin texture and skin tone. Also, keeping the skin exfoliated helps ensure that your other skin care products, like serums, are more effective. When they don't have to penetrate a layer of dead skin cells, they can target the new skin cells. The result? Your skin will be left glowing which is why it's so crucial to exfoliate!

So I picked up these two cleansing blushes from Quo and from The Body Shop. The Body Shop is more than half the price of the Quo one and it's 358329X better than the Quo one! When I first started to use the Quo one, I noticed how prickly it felt on my skin. The bristles are NOT soft at all! I was so disappointed and it was $7, which I thought was still pretty expensive for a manual brush. So then the other day I decided to try The Body Shop one instead since well, it's only $3. (Then with the discount club card, I got an extra 10% off so it was even cheaper) And to my biggest surprise, it was AWESOME! It did everything that I had wanted and it's softer and denser comparing to the Quo one. The only down side is that it doesn't have a handle like the Quo one, but for half the price, I can't complain. Plus, they both have cap to ensure that the brush stays clean. I don't have a Clarisonic, so I'm not sure how it will compare to it. But I think for a manual brush, The Body Shop one does a pretty decent job at exfoliating.

How I use this product: After removing all my makeup from my face with a cleansing oil, I would add a cleanser (such as Spectro Jel Cleanser) to the brush. Then I would slowly and gently rub the brush in an upward motion on my face along with the cleanser. This product is great for removing dead skin cells! I do not use this near my undereye area as the skin this is an extremely delicate area of your face.

So overall, if you are looking for a manual exfoliating brush, skip the Quo one and get The Body Shop one instead. It's cheaper and it's softer and overall, just better!

SWEET DECO PHONE CASE

Mood [Angry]
Currently Playing [唐禹哲-灰色河堤]

I tweeted a few weeks ago that I was adding deco to my phone case at Joyce's house and I didn't post the result until now. (I had to get my phone unlocked before I could put the case on and I only got it unlocked yesterday). So yeah, this was my first deco piece that I made completely from scratch (`・ω・´ ) Yes, I glued every single piece of pearl on the case. It took me, what felt like, a life time to complete. After finishing this, it made me appreciate people who does deco by themselves even more! I can't even imagine all the effort and time that has to be put into a single piece of work. I'm usually really lazy. Either I buy the entire case already deco'ed or I buy one of those deco stickers to give myself a head start. Haha! But thank you Joyce for helping me out and for dealing with a noob like myself when it comes to deco. I really hope that there are pre-deco'ed cases for my phone in Hong Kong so that I don't have to do this every single time! Haha! Oh, and I really need to add some cute charms to my phone! I feel like it still looks so manly! (*´ω`*)

Please check out Joyce's Kawaii Deco Store for some amazing goodies! You can order nail tools, value packs (that includes everything you need to complete your deco project) and a whole bunch of other deco related products for amazing prices. My deco phone case took 2 value packs to finish. For more infomation you can contact her at kawaii.deco.store@gmail.com.

[REVIEW] - PANTENE INTENSIVE RESTORATION TREATMENT

Mood [Stressed]
Currently Playing [None]

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Pantene Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Intensive Restoration Treatment deeply moisturizes hair and strengthens it against damage and breakage. The rich formula nourishes dry, damaged hair to help prevent split ends from forming and make it more resilient against future damage. Hair is left hydrated and silky smooth from root to tip.

Pantene’s advanced formula moisturizes and reinforces hair from root to tip. The conditioning formula helps to seal damaged cuticles and restore moisture to dry, chemically damaged hair. Concentrated moisturizers infuse hair with smoothness and a healthy-looking shine.

FOR BEST RESULT
Use once a week to infuse dry, damaged hair with the look of health. Apply to hair starting at the roots and work toward tips. Let treatment work for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. For hair that’s moisturized and healthy, use with Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Dry to Moisturized™ Shampoo and Conditioner.

INGREDIENTS
Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Isopropyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP THIS PRODUCT
After using this for over a month now, I'm starting to realize how it only cost me $4 CAD when it was on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart. I thought the product was so affordable considering that it's a 302 ml bottle, which can last for me over a month. I'm usually not a big fan of Pantene because their products had never really impressed me but since it was only $4 I decided not to pass it up. I guess I should have stuck with my gut on this one instead of being cheap.

The smell is only okay but the result is worst. Its smell is no where as nice as the Essential NUANCE AIRY Ultra Honey Hair Mask nor is the result even compariable! It claims that it's suppose to moisturizes hair and strengthens it against damage and breakage. However, I hardly notice any difference with my hair after using this product for over a month now. To be honest, it feels like a regular conditioner and not a treatment or a hair mask. My hair does not feel smooth after using it and I thought that even my Tsubaki conditioner did a better job at smoothing my hair than this treatment. I honestly did not see any results or difference in my hair =(

The texture of the product is also not very thick like most hair masks or treatments. It really does feel like a conditioner. So please save the $4 and put it towards a better hair mask like the Essential NUANCE AIRY Ultra Honey Hair Mask, which cost around $16 on Ebay but you are paying for QUALITY! I will definitely not be repurchasing this product even if it only cost me $1!

RATING
Product (0/5)
Cost (5/5) - Cheap price = cheap product
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (2/5) - I think the pastic jar just looks really cheap

BASE ZOO "MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER" SWEATER

Mood [Dazed]
Currently Playing [None]

Make You Feel Better Base Zoo sweater courtesy of Trinity Styles, H&M harem pants, Forever 21 heels, Aldo purse, Bape trucker hat, vintage glasses

Trinity is an online store originally based on facebook. Established in 2008, they are one of the largest online stores in British Columbia on facebook. To expand their business, they have begun to move onto a fully functional shopping cart to meet the needs of more customers online. At Trinity, they strive to provide you with quality products at the most attractive prices.Their products are all unique in nature and you won't have to worry about looking just like everyone else when you're at the mall. Trinity is located in Richmond, British Columbia and ship worldwide. All product photos are actual photos either shot by us or provided by the company. The worry of receiving something that looks completely different is eliminated when you are shopping here with them.

They had send me this sweater for review purchases, which means that I do not monetary compensation for it. Everything I say about this item are of my 100% honest opinion as always. This is my second review for the company, you can find the first review that I did back in February here.

I actually wouldn't call this a "sweater" because it's not very thick. It's more like a top and it's definitely one of those tops that you would have to wear something underneath because it's quite see-through. But I don't mind because since the weather is getting really warm anyways, which makes it perfect for a top like this. I did find that the top is a bit loose on me and that the collar is quite large so that's why I had to wear it as an off-shoulder top. However, I must admit that the quality is only okay. The last item that they had send me here was definitely better. The top is very simple so it'll go great with everything. What I really liked was the fact that the tag was pinned on with a safety pin because it doesn't damage the top. I can easily remove without having to worry about ripping the shirt (^___^)

Trinity Styles had stocked up a lot of nice goodies for the stuff time! They have some amazing skirts and top for a really affordable price! My favourites are still their bondage leggings and Lis Liza inspired dolly shorts! The shipping took rather long this with this package, we assumed that there was something wrong with the Canada Post office because a package from Vancouver to Toronto should not take over 3 weeks time! We were worried that it was lost in the mail! But I was just happy that it was just overly late rather than being lost. However, this never happened with the previous item, so I know that it's not the company's fault, it was probably because of the some internal post office problems. The prices on this site is extremely affordable with most items ranging from $10 CAD to $30 CAD. And they have great sales from time to time! So definitely go check them out!

HOW TO MAKE EDAMAME 枝豆

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [NEWS - Ai Nante]

Edamame is a delightful vegetable is commonly served at sushi bars and Japanese and Chinese restaurants as a meal starter. To me, they make the perfect midnight snack when I'm studying or finishing up a project. Trust me, it's a lot healthier than eating chips in the middle of the night! HAHA! ♥

~ In East Asia, the soybean has been used for over two thousand years as a major source of protein. Edamame is consumed as a snack, a vegetable dish, used in soups or processed into sweets. As a snack, the pods are lightly boiled in salted water, and then the seeds are squeezed directly from the pods into the mouth with the fingers :)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

1) 1 lb of fresh edamame or in my case a package of frozen edamame (I purchased mine form Walmart for $4 CAD)

2) 2 cups of water in a pot

3) Sea salt or table salt
4) Soy sauce for dipping (optional)

DIRECTIONS
1) Prepare your water. I cook mine in salt water just to add more flavour to the beans. A recommended amount of salt for about a pound of edamame would be 1/2 tablespoon for salt lovers, 1 teaspoon for less of a salty taste. It is recommend to use 2 cups of water for 1 lb of edamame ^__^

2) Boil water. Bring your pot of water to a rolling boil, making sure that it does not boil over.

3) Add the edamame. When the water is at a rolling boil, add the edamame in small handfuls. If you dump all the beans it at once, you risk burns from splashing created by the beans.

4) Time your edamame. For frozen beans, boil time is around 3-4 minutes. Edamame beans should be firm, yet give to the teeth. You don't want to over cook your beans and make them really mushy ♥

5) Drain the edamame onto a fresh plate.

6) Add extra salt to enhance the taste. I would suggest letting the beans cool for about 30 seconds before adding the salt or else the heat will melt the salt instantly.
Now you can sit down, relax and enjoy the edamame ~ Wasn't that just so simple and trust me, they are so yummmy! :)

If you have any questions, don't be shy to ask me! ♥
