[REVIEW] - LUUUX WEBSITE

Mood [Tired]
Currently Playing [Marianas Trench - Beside You]

I started blogging and interacting on luuux.com last September and it took me around 2 months to collect enough points to earn my first prize. If you have never heard of luuux, you can read about it on my blog here. I'm in no way affiliated with the website nor do I get paid for blogging about it, I'm just sharing about my personal experience with luuux.

I ordered on November 22, 2010 the Sigma Complete Kit with Brush Roll in Pink + Heart Shaped Mirror in Pink Fire for 5,580 Luuux$ and shipping to Canada is another 500 Luuux$ so the total for this order was: 6,080 Luuux$. This brush set retails for $99 USD on the Sigma website. The order was then completed on December 4, 2010 and I received the package the front of my door on December 8, 2010. The entire process took just a little over two weeks but it was still a smooth process and I'm super pleased with the fact that LUUUX is not a scam!

This Complete Sigma Kit with Brush Roll in Pink + Heart Shaped Mirror in Pink Fire consists of 12 professional quality brushes for a complete makeover! Everything you need to apply makeup to eyes and face

Tapered Blending - E40 - Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.

Eye Shading - E55 - Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

The brush kit also includes a cute Heart Shaped Mirror in Pink Fire. Handmade, each rhinestone is individually placed on the surface of the mirror for a perfect finishing. All mirrors come in an exclusive black velvet bag and beautiful packaging.

I'm super happy to have received this brush set for FREE! All I did was just blog and interact with everyone else on the site. It was really simple and easy and best of all you can earn prizes for just blogging. After ordering this, I've already reached past the 1000$ luuux and I want to get a bigger prize this time. You want to know the secret in getting a larger prize? PERSEVERANCE! Set a goal and keep reminding yourself of what you want! Don't look at the smaller prizes, focus on the BIG things, such as an Ipad or an LV purse! :)

If you have any questions or doubts about the site, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll try my best to tell you what I know and to share my experience with you. If you want to join me on luuux, click on the link below! =)

PRIINCESS IS BACK FROM NEW YORK

Mood [Frustrated]
Currently Playing [Avril Lavigne - Nobody's Home]

I'm finally back from my 3 day trip to New York. Well, I actually got back last night, but I was so tired that I didn't get around to updating until now. Believe it or not, I missed not being able to blog the entire time when I was there! Haha! I didn't take much photos of my trip since it was a pure shopping trip and no sight seeing was done. I have to admit though that the sale at Woodbury was a little disappointing. There were hardly anything good and most sizes were already out of stock. I'm assuming that it was because we went after the Boxing Day rush. *Sigh* I didn't buy ANY clothing at all but I did pick up two pairs of Burberry shoes for only $99 USD each!! Purchasing those shoes were the highlight of my trip because luckily, the last pairs were my size. I almost bought a pair of Balenciaga heels as well if they didn't have such a noticable mark on the front and if they weren't the last pair. I'm still sad that I couldn't find a new wallet. However, here are some of the stuff that I had picked up. The photo is missing a pair of boots and a hood scarf that I had purchased on the last day.

1) Burberry Mary Janes $99 USD (NO TAX!)
2) Burberry Boots $99 USD (NO TAX!)
3) Coach Poppy Purse $120 USD
4) Coach Coin Bag $15 USD
5) American Apparel Girly Lace Socks $6USD
6) American Apparel Nail Polish 3 for $15 USD
7) Smith's Lip Balm $5 USD
8) Betsey Johnson Earrings $18 USD
9) DKNY Boxer Shorts for JL $15 USD
10) L'Occitane en Provence Ultra Rich Hair Cream $11 USD - I can't wait to review this!

Here are the stuff that Ada purchased at Woodbury:
1) Bottega Veneta Purse $699 USD
2) Bottega Veneta Wallet $219 USD
3) DKNY Boots $99 USD
4) Betsey Johnson Dress $34 USD
5) American Apparel Nail Polish 3 for $15 USD
6) Smith's Lip Balm $5 USD (She went nuts getting these for her friends in Hong Kong as souvenirs)

I'm going to end this post with two photos from my hotel room of my two travel companions. Now Hello Kitty has been with me to Hong Kong and New York! Don't they just look so cute and cuddly together?

PS, I'll try my best to squeeze in one more post tomorrow at work before 2011.

I'VE BEEN SO GOOD THIS YEAR

Mood [Content]
Currently Playing [林峰 - 我們很好]

UP striped shirt, H&M vest, Forever 21 fur scarf

Here are some of the most amazing presents that I have gotten this year, which includes small items from Lanvin x H&M, numerous of new stuffed friends, Melliesh blush/lip gloss, a Little Mermaid cup for the office and a book made from scratch from JL. I'm still in utter amazement that he's able to make a book! He joked saying that we can now write our story in it. I actually thought it was rather sweet of him.

I didn't really do anything special on Christmas. I spend most of the day with JL as he slowly recovers from a fever that he started in the middle of night. At least he's feeling a little better now though we didn't get to do anything special for Christmas. However, my aunt just arrived from Hong Kong this afternoon, which means there's only two more days until New York! Ohhh, I can feel the excitement building up! Forget about Boxing Day shopping tomorrow, I'm saving all my money for New York.

WHEN I COME UNDONE YOU BRING ME BACK AGAIN

Mood [Happy]
Currently Playing [None]

Bench sweater, Costa Blanca vest, Berksha pants, H&M necklace, A&F hat

JL surprised me today with another Christmas present. Last month, we had promised not to buy each other anything for Christmas this year and we both failed at keeping that promise. He also ended up getting me a Joby Gorillapod SLR and this Chi's Sweet Home stuffed toy! We started watching the anime together just a little over 2 weeks ago and we both fell in love with Chi. He actually bough two of them with different facial expressions. He gave me one to put in my room and the other is in his room. Chi's actually the cutest cat ever and if you haven't watched the anime, I highly suggest that you should start watching the first season here.

On another note, wow, Christmas is only 2 days away. I cannot believe how fast this month has come and gone! Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a post sometime tomorrow or on Christmas day to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Oh, I forgot to mention that I'll actually be going to New York for 3 days next week. All updates from my trip will be posted later. Right now, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for new years.

[REVIEW] - SHU UEMURA VS DUO DARK TONE EYELASH ADHESIVE

Mood [Aggravated]
Currently Playing [None]

I've been getting tons of questions lately about what kind of eyelash adhesive do I use and I thought that I would write a product comparison to answer all of the questions. I've been using the Shu Uemura one for over 4 years now and have never ever switched because I simply love it! It has never given me another reason to switch over to a new adhesive and I was never tempted to buy a different type. However, I've decided to purchase the DUO one around a month ago because I was interested in trying a dark tone glue instead of a white glue. Keep reading to find out which one I liked more =)

Let's talk about the price difference in these two products. The Shu Uemura glue retails for around $10 USD on the website so I'm assuming it's going to be around that price in Holt Renfew. I have actually never purchased the Shu Uemura glue from Canada before because I always go back to Hong Kong and stock up there. It only cost $35 HKD in Hong Kong, which is around $5 CAD. The Shu Uemura glue is 0.24oz/7g, which is a pretty small tube but I guarantee that it'll last you for at least a year. The DUO glue is $10 CAD at Sephora and it contains 0.5oz/14g, which is cheaper than the Shu Uemura one and is double the size. But that's about the only advantage that the DUO glue has over the Shu Uemura one. Yes, I still love the Shu Uemura one OVER the DUO one. Here are my reasons for choosing the Shu Uemura glue.

1) The Shu Uemura one has a much smaller opening than the DUO one, which means that it's much easier to apply directly onto the false lashes. I find that it's really hard to control the glue on the DUO one and often times some will spill out. The DUO glue is so watery as well so it makes it too easy to squirt out and I always end up putting too much onto my lashes.

You can really see the difference in the opening in this photo.

2) The DUO glue has a really funky smell to it. I know this is just a personal preference, but I really dislike the smell of the DUO glue. It actually smells like white glue that you would use for arts and crafts and it grosses me out a little bit. On the other hand, the Shu Uemura one has no smell at all.

3) The DUO glue takes a much longer time to dry. I find that I have to hold the false lashes in place for a longer period of time with the DUO glue than with the Shu Uemura glue. I would suggest letting the DUO glue sit on the false lashes for at least 10 seconds to dry a little before applying it onto your eyelids.

4) Lastly, the Shu Uemura glue stays on much longer than the DUO glue. When I use the DUO glue, the lashes near both corners of my eyes tend to flake off during the day. This gets really annoying and I would have to just take off the entire lash altogether. However, I never had this problem with the Shu Uemura glue. It is tough enough to stick onto your eyes but it's also gentle enough to wipe off with a simple makeup remover. Though it's a white glue, it does dry clear.

Overall, I thought that the DUO glue was a waste of money. I should have just stuck with the Shu Uemura one instead. The only thing that I really like about the DUO glue is that it is dark tone and I do enjoy not having to go over the lashes with an eyeliner. But that's about the only good thing that I can say about this glue. I know that there are more product in the DUO glue, however, I can use the same tube of the Shu Uemura glue for over a year. Thus, I think $10 USD is pretty reasonable for a year's worth of glue. I hope this answered some of your questions about eyelash adhesives. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me!

[SPONSOR] - HIPPILICIOUS JEWELRY (MIDNIGHT MAGIC)

Mood [Tired]
Currently Playing [One Republic - Secrets]

What I'm Wearing: Midnight Magic ($15.00 USD)

I have a very special treat for you guys today. I want to introduce to you another one of my favourite online stores to purchase Swarovski crystal jewelry. These necklaces were send to me by HIPPILICIOUS JEWELRY for review purposes, which means that I do not monetary compensation for it. Everything I say about these necklaces are of my 100% opinion as always.

WHO IS HIPPILICIOUS JEWELRY?
Every item sold here is hand made with love and care. They are designed with current fashions in mind to feed the growing appetite of stylish jewelry. It's all about these adorable jewelry items you can wear to work, school, or just about anywhere! Our jewelry is made to add a little sparkle and glamour to your day or brighten up any outfit!
So far, we have started only a small company. But we hope that it will grow significantly. We hope that the word will spread and soon people all over America will be wearing our jewelry!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Clear AB genuine Swarovski crystal moon with a gorgeous blue Swarovski crystal heart!
16" = $15 USD
18" = $15 USD

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT

This is one of the two necklaces that were send to me from Hippilicious Jewelry. First, I have to say how impressed I was of their fast shipping and cute packaging. I loved the little ribbons and the leopard print boxes. They were really adorable and I thought they would have made perfect Christmas gifts! I believe that the shipping took less than a week to arrive at my house from the States, which is really fast. The company also included a little postcard that included information about the company and also a business card for contact purposes.

Now onto the actual necklace, which I think it's so gorgeous! I love how both the crystals are really shiny and when taken out in the sun, it sparkles. The moon crystal looks white/clear in the photos, but when you take it outdoors, it has a really nice yellow glow. I've always loved anything with moons and hearts on it. I blame it on my obsession with Sailor Moon when I was a child. Haha!

The necklace is also extremely affordable. This company sells high quality Swarovski jewelries for a very affordable price. This necklace was only $15 USD regardless of the length of the chain! The best part is that they have both silver jewelries and gold jewelries as well. So whether you fancy gold or silver, you'll be able to find something that you like. When I wore this necklace out, I had received tons of compliments from my friends. I had to tell them right away where I had purchased it from.

Aside from Swarovski jewelries, the company also makes fabric jewelries as well. You can check out some of the delicate fabric jewelries here. One of the only downsides of the company is that they only ship to the U.S. and Canada at this time! Sorry to my readers who are from other countries.

Excited to see what's the second necklace that they send send me? Stay tune for my next review! In the mean, do check out their website below or follow the link on my sidebar:

WHY DO YOU MAKE IT HARD TO LOVE YOU

Mood [Disappointed]
Currently Playing [G-Dragon & T.O.P - High High]

Kamen Rider (仮面ライダー) t-shirt from JL, H&M floral pants & hat, Mcdonalds My Melody watch

Do not be fooled by these floral pants from H&M. I had purchased them sometime last week because A) they were the perfect harem floral pants and B) they were on sale for an amazing $15! However, when I wore them out last Monday and the moment I sat down, the seams on both sides near my hip came loose. Okay, I think "loose" is an understatement, more like they ripped right open. Luckily, the pockets on the inside were able to hide my skin from showing and making it really noticeable. It gave me enough time to go home and change into another pair of pants. JL joked and said that I was getting fatter and that's why the pants ripped when I sat down. Haha! But anyways, I quickly returned them the next day and didn't even bother looking for another pair though the sales lady told me that it was probably a defect in this specific pair. I just don't want to risk having another accident like this again. I'm just thankful that the pants didn't decide to rip in the back.
