BURBERRY BEAUTY CAMPAIGN

Mood [Tired]
Currently Playing [None]

Enlisting British beauties Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nina Porter and Lily Donaldson, the latest beauty campaign from Burberry features the matching trio in subtle and neutral tones. Here's an interview with Christopher Bailey (Chief creative director of Burberry) did with Elle Canada:

What sets Burberry Beauty apart from other makeup collections?
Burberry Beauty is really about creating a subtle layer between you and the elements. It’s evocative of the trench coat, which is an easy piece that cocoons you and makes you feel safe and protected. We also wanted Burberry Beauty to reflect the same attitude as the Burberry girl, which is very relaxed and easy.

The colours are so subtle and very wearable. Why did you choose these particular shades?
The colours are reflective of everything that belongs to the Burberry world. The nude and natural tones of the trench coat form the base of the whole collection. Added to that, we have these stormy, cloudy, misty and hazysunny-weather shades too. Weather is a big part of Burberry, and we reflected that in these smoky colours and beautiful deep blues and purples.

The packaging is chic and stylish. What was the inspiration behind its design?
The makeup packaging, which is very luxurious and tactile, is a hugely important part of the experience. It’s based on the idea of a trench coat wrapping around this jewel of a box that is embossed with the signature Burberry check.

Tell us why you chose these models for the campaign.
Lily Donaldson is a true English beauty, Nina Porter has a bit of a boyish edge and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is very sexy and sultry.

How would you describe the concept of Burberry Beauty?
I would describe it as effortless elegance yet sophisticated and relaxed at the same time.

[SPONSOR] - B.LIV BY CELLNIQUE

Mood [Busy]
Currently Playing [林峰-愛不疚]

I finally managed to write the review on these b.liv products by Cellnique (Sorry that it took over a month). Selina from Cellnique contacted me at the end of June to write a review about these products. I was super excited to try out these products and I decided to try them out for a full month before writing about them (Rather than the suggested 2 weeks) because it always take longer for my skin to take in the effect of new products. Even though these products were send to me, my review of them will be 100% of my honest opinion. Please be aware that I'll be reviewing on 5 products, so this review will be rather long.

Here are some background information about the company taken from their website:
Pronounce as ‘believe‘, b•liv has the impeccable pedigree of being the creation of Asia‘s most effective paramedical salon brand -- Cellnique Paramedical, a brand that has emerged as one of the problematic skin expert amongst the industry over the past 12 years. Read more on www.cellnique.com

Philosophy:
b•liv seeks to inspire the youth of today to believe in themselves; that they can make a difference not only in the care of their skin but also the world they live in. b•liv was also developed to create immediate results for youth requiring products that are sophisticated, but whose functions are simple-to-understand and easy to use.

Based on my skin condition (oily) and my skin concerns, Selina send me products that catered to my needs. These are the products that I have received and a guideline to how to use these products in my daily beauty routine (This chart is provided by Selina and it was very useful for me to add these products into my routine)
1) Off with those heads
2) Shrink and Tighten +
3) Spots Got Shot
4) Glow and Shine
5) Leach Me, 1pc

Off with Those Heads

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Its essence ingredients keep oil secretions under control, and skin irritation will never again rule!

Main functions: clear blackheads + whiteheads

FOR BEST RESULT
Use Off With Those Heads daily, on your cleansed, towel-dried face:
1. Pump 2-3 pea-sized drops of Off With Those Heads onto your palm.
2. Apply on T-zone areas, or areas with black and whiteheads

INGREDIENTS
Purified Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Extract, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Extract, Carbomer, Propylene Glycol, Menthol, Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) Oil, Poly(Oxy-1,2-Ethanediyl)Α-(Donyl Phenyl)-Ω-Hydroxy, Sodium Hydroxide, Perppermint (Metha piperita )Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea.

WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
I had such high hopes for this product because it is one of their best sellers and I have heard amazing things about it through other beauty bloggers when it was on sale on Cellnique. With that being said, I was a little disappointed after trying this product out for a month. As you can tell from the photos, the liquid is clear and a pea-size amount is enough for your nose/t-zone area. It doesn't have a strong smell and it doesn't sting or anything. The results were not instant or dramatic. I wonder if this had to do with the reasons that I do not have a lot of blackheads. I was more interested in seeing how this product would get rid of my whiteheads. However, after 4 weeks, my whiteheads are still there. But I did notice that it prevented new ones from forming. Thus, I couldn't completely write-off this product just yet. Maybe I'll give it another week or so to see what will happen.

RATING
Product (3/5)
Cost (4/5) - Pricey but only need a really small amount
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think the b.liv packaging are very hip, which is good because the line is catered to youths

INGREDIENTS
Glycerin, Purified Water (Aqua), Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid), Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Extract, Vitamin B5 (D-Panthenol), Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum) Oil.

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
This is my FAVORITE product out of the 5 that was send to me. I have some large pores around t-zone area and I was really exciting to see the difference that it made after a month. My pores are visibly smaller and dark spots were lighter. Check out the photo:

This is the strongest smelling product out of the 5 that I had received, but it's not unbearable. There will also be a light sensation when you first apply this product, however once again, it's not unbearable. The only down side that I see with this product is the price. This small bottle cost $49 USD (On sale now for $41 USD). Yes, it works and yes, I'll continue to use it. But it is still expensive. I do want to try out the Shrink and Tighten Serum from the same purple collection, which is for the morning.

RATING
Product (5/5)
Cost (3/5) - quite pricey for such a small amount
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think the b.liv packaging are very hip, which is good because the line is catered to youths

Use Spots Got Shot daily for best effect:
1. Cleanse your face.
2. Apply a thin layer of Spots Got Shot on areas affected with spots
3. Apply 2-3 pumps of Quench Me for best effect.

INGREDIENTS
Purified Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Disodium Lauriminodipropionate, Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Phosphates), Trimethylpentanediol/Adipic Acid Copolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Latic Acid, PEG-40 Stearate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Zinc PCA, PEG-10 Stearate, BHA(Salicylic Acid), Polysorbate 80, Sulfur, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
This is my new blemish fighter! When I break out, I have really stubborn blemishes that will last for a week or even longer. And the worst part is, that most of my pimples will leave a mark. I have tried almost everything possible to get rid and to prevent my breakouts, but nothing works. However, this is going to replace my current blemish cream. I will add that even though this product helped in reducing my blemishes, it did take a long time to see its effects. However, my skin is weird like that and it takes my skin a long time to get use to new products. I was 3 weeks into using this product before I started to see the results. What I really like about this is that even though it fights acne, it does not leave your skin feeling dry. Unlike most acne cream, this has a really fresh smell to it. I would actually say this for all the products that I had tried from b.liv. Everything is very moist and really soothing for my skin, which I really liked. Also, this product has also helped in reducing the scars left behind from past blemishes. But once again, it is a slower process. Thus, I'll continue to use this product.

RATING
Product (4/5) - Just because the process is slow
Cost (4/5) - It's a really small tube for $25 USD
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think the b.liv packaging are very hip, which is good because the line is catered to youths

Glow and Shine

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Glow & Shine deeply exfoliates damaged, scarred or unhealthy skin, to reveal the smooth, flawless complexion lurking within. It also lightens and brightens the dull and uneven-toned face, to make one's inner glow and shine rise to the surface.

Price: USD 25
Size: 50ml
Main functions: exfoliating + pores reducing + brightening
*For sensitive skin with large pores

FOR BEST RESULT
Use Glow and Shine once a week:
1. Wash your face.
2. Apply a thick layer over your face and neck after cleansing. Leave on for 5-10 minutes. Avoid the lip and eye area.

INGREDIENTS
Purified Water (Aqua), Zinc Oxide, Glycerin, Koalin, Hexyldecanol, Silica, Polysorbate 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lactic Acid, Stearic Acid, Bentonite, Cetyl Alcohol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Menthyl Lactate, Methylparaben, Papaya Enzyme (Papain), Fragrance, Propylparaben.

WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
I don't love this product, I only like it. I used it once a week during the past month, so in total I had tried this product 4 times. This exfoliates my skin really well because it contains little particles inside that helps scrubs away all impurities and dirt. It did leave my skin feeling soft afterward but I didn't notice the "glow" or the "shine" that it had promised. After a month, my skin is not any brighter or fairer, I think it looked the same. However, if you are looking for a really good exfoliating mask, I would highly recommend this one. The smell is very typical, I don't know how else to describe it other than it smells like a really nice washroom. Haha!

RATING
Product (4/5)
Cost (4/5) - Still expensive for a small tube
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think the b.liv packaging are very hip, which is good because the line is catered to youths

Price: USD 28
Size: 6pcs
Main functions: deep moisturizing + brightening + age preventing

FOR BEST RESULT
Use Leach Me 2-3 times weekly to boost skin hydration, brightness and prevent aging:
1. Remove protective sheet before placing the mask over a thoroughly-cleansed face.
2. Leave the mask for 20-30 minutes.
3. Remove the mask and gently massage any excess serum into the skin.

INGREDIENTS
Purified Water (Aqua), 1, 3 - Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Sodium PCA (Sodium 1-Pyrrolidonecarboxylate Solution), Propylene Glycol, Lemon (Citrus medica limonum) Fruit Extract, Sour Milk (Lactic Acid), Mandelic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Carboxymethyl Beta-Glucan, Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) Flower Extract, Algae Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Sodium Hyaluronate, Co-enzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone), Hydrogenated Egg Yolk Phosphlipids, Acerola (Malpighia punicifolia) Fruit Extract, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Lecithin, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Fragrance, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, BHA (Salicylic Acid), Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Phenoxyethanol, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Sulisobenzone (Benzophenone-4).

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
Sadly, I have only give an initial reaction to this product because Cellnique only send me one sheet of this face mask. I'll do a review on it based on my first trial of this product. When I took the mask out of the package, I noticed how extremely moist the mask was. The excess serum were dripping out of the package. This shows how hydrating this mask is going to be. I loved the refreshing feeling that the mask leaves because it has a really fresh smell and the mask is also a lot thinner than most face masks. When it's left on my skin, the mask becomes almost see-through.

Overall, I really love this product because it left my skin feeling really soft and hydrated. I had left this mask on for more than 30 minutes because there were just so much serum on the mask that my skin needed more time to absorb it all. I would definitely use this product again.

RATING
Product (5/5)
Cost (3/5) - Pricey for only 6 sheets
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think the b.liv packaging are very hip, which is good because the line is catered to youths

RISK

Mood [Busy]
Currently Playing [鄭秀文 - 默契]

“Cinderella walked on broken glass, Sleeping beauty let her whole life pass by, Belle fell in love with a beast, Pocahontas risked her life for a feast, Jasmine could have had anyone but she chose a poor man, and Ariel, she walked on land.”

So many people dislike fairytales because it makes us believe in love, believe that a prince will swoop down and save us when something goes wrong. But I’ve come to realise that in every fairytale-like movie, every girl took a risk. Took a risk for love, took a risk in the name of love.

So, how do we know if our own fairytale won’t really happen if we don’t try, if we stop believing in love?

DREAMS FEEL REAL WHILE WE'RE IN THEM

Mood [Sleepy]
Currently Playing [DBSK - My Destiny]

W♥C banana tank top, from Hong Kong black tutu, random skull necklace

The past weekend was so busy that I think on average I got about 4 hours of sleep per night. From work, to shopping, to watching Inception (Dicaprio never fail to deliver a great movie), to hang-outs, I kept losing track of time. Honestly, I felt like a walking zombie for the past 48 hours. As a result, this morning I was unable to wake up and drag myself to class. I guess it shouldn't be that big of an issue cause we are down to our last 3 classes of this summer course. Only one more assignment due this Wednesday and then the course will pretty much be over.

Another hobby of mine, besides fashion and makeup, is baking. Here are some yummy treats that I made for Christmas and for friend's birthdays. I look for recipes online because I'm too cheap to buy an actual cook book. Plus, there are great sites with great recipes that's just as good as anything that a book can offer. Here are just a few of my favourites: 1) Lady Fingers Cannoli Cake 2) Simply Sensational Truffles 3) Snow Ball Chocolate Cake

IT'S SO FLUFFY, I'M GONNA DIE

H&M striped tank, from Hong Kong drop-crotch pants, from Korea vintage camera bag

I love to get to know my readers. It's always nice to meet new friends and other fellow bloggers. So, tell me five things about yourself. I'll start:

1) I love ice-cream! I wouldn't say that I have a huge sweet tooth, but I'm definitely a sucker for ice-cream. Taro, Baskin Robbins' Cotton Candy and Laura Secord's French and Frosted Mint are my top 3 favourites.

2) I've kept a dairy since I was 6 years old, which means that I have accumulated more than 50 diaries that's underneath my bed in my lifetime. And yes, I write in it on a diary basis.

3) I don't know how to peel an orange with my hands even at the age of 20. I always had my fruits cut up for me when I was a kid, so I never bothered to learn. If I really want to eat an orange, I would take a knife and slice it up.

4) If I could marry anyone in the world, Kim Jaejoong from DBSK will be second on my list. (Of course, JL will be number one! haha! *roll eyes*) If you don't know who Jaejoong is, you must click here. What a stunner! ;)

5) My first job ever was working at Tim Horton's as a cashier when I was 16. I must admit, some of my fondest memories are from those days. I remember we use to throw doughnuts onto the drive through to see which car will squish them and the time when we use to lock my friend in the freezer when we had nothing better to do. Haha!

[REVIEW] - DOLLY WINK LIQUID EYELINER

Mood [Full]
Currently Playing [Aaliyah - One In A Million]

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Dolly Wink is a new brand that was launched in late 2009. Tsubasa Masuwaka, a former model, teamed up with Koji to release Dolly Wink. One of the products that is part of the line is the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner.

The Liquid Eyeliner has a ultra fine yet flexible point tip, which allow greater precision with a easy to handle eyelining experience. The deep dazzling black can accentuate the glamorous eyes of yours, giving you a more defined look. This eyeliner is waterproof, sweat proof and with the quick dry formula, the eyeliner can stay on for hours without a smudge. Your look will be long wearing and gorgeous even without touch-up.

Country of origin: Japan

Colour: Deep Black

FOR BEST RESULT
Use the pencil to fill the spaces between your eyelashes and draw a smooth line just above your lashes.

INGREDIENTS
(Unavailable)

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
This is by far, the easiest to apply, longest lasting and prettiest looking eye liner I've ever used! I had purchased this from Hong Kong and used it when I was there. Even in the hot humid weather of Hong Kong, where most makeup tends to "melt" after a few hours outside, this eyeliner remained! It was strong enough to resist the heat but can be easily taken off with a water-proof makeup remover. I had this eyeliner on for more than 12 hours and it still looked as if it was freshly applied even though all my other makeup had already started to fade.

The colour is very bold and very pigmented. The applicator is also very easy to use because it's similar to a felt tip pen. This means that it is very easy to create the wing look and the application is very precise. I only wish that this eyeliner isn't so pricey. This eyeliner goes for $12.30 USD on SaSa but you would still have to pay for shipping. I paid around $13 CAD for it when I bought it in Hong Kong for $98 HKD, which is still a little pricey for an eyeliner. I haven't even bother checking the Asian malls in Toronto because I'm pretty sure that it's going to be more than that. Some Ebay sellers are posting this item for more than $20 CAD, which is pretty ridiculous! However, I am still willing to buy this again because honestly, it's the best eyeliner that I've tried to date. It's definitely worth every dollar.

RATING
Product (5/5)
Cost (4/5) - A little pricey for an eyeliner
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - It is the CUTEST eyeliner of all time! Dolly Wink has such amazing packaging!

The Vegetal Collagen provides the nourishment needed by the skin maintaining the skin’s regenerating healing function. * Excess essence from the packaging may be applied on the neck by massage.
* After 20 minutes, remove mask and gently massage face to assist absorption.
* Rinsing is not required.
* You may apply toner, moisturizer etc. after application.

INGREDIENTS
Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, 1,3-Butylene Glycol, Comfrey Extract, Glycerine, Cactus Extract, Algae Extract, Nanospheres, Aloe Extract, Marigold Extract, Vegetal Collagen, Centella Asiatica, Grapefruit, Hyaluronic Acid, Calendula Extract, Sake Yeast Extract, Bio-Active Silanols, Lemon Extract, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Butylparaben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Tween 20, Lactamide, Fragrance

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
I have always been such a huge fan of this brand of masks and this Sake Yeast one is no exception. I have tried most of the masks from this brand, but haven't had the time to write reviews on all of them just yet. I decided to start with this Sake Yeast mask one because it's definitely one of my top 3 favorites. This is a chart that shows all the My Beautiful Diary masks and their functions. (I find this to be extremely useful when you are looking for the right mask for your skin):

I put on this mask after I had cleansed my face thoroughly and I would just lay in bed with it. It's so relaxing that you can almost fall asleep. The first thing that you'll notice with this mask is that it smells like actual Sake, which is alcohol. It has a very sweet ripe alcohol smell, which I think is very soothing and tolerable. The mask is also very moist, thus, it's extremely hydrating. This mask is ideal for winter when the weather is a bit more dry than now. The results are as always great! My skin feels really smooth afterward and very hydrated. After a box, about 10 sheets, I started to notice that my skin is fairer.

Another reason why I love this product is that it's very affordable and easy to get a hold of. If you are in Toronto or even Vancouver, you can get this mask at your local T&T supermarket. Since this mask is made in Taiwan and T&T is a Taiwanese supermarket, it is only make sense that you can get it there. Sometimes when they have sale, you can get 10 masks for $13.99 CAD (something like that), which is pretty good. If you go to Hong Kong or Taiwan, it's even cheaper in those places. Not to mention that they have a pretty good collection of these masks as well and it's guaranteed authentic (there are some fake masks that are circulating around on Ebay, so please be careful when you are purchasing these from Ebay). The Sake Yeast masks are definitely worth a try.

RATING
Product (5/5)
Cost (5/5) - Around $15 CAD for 10 sheets at your local T&T supermarket
Ease of Use (5/5)
Packaging (5/5) - I think My Beautiful Diary has the cutest packaging!

I LIVE FOR YOU ALONE

Mood [Happy]

H&M tank, Levi's shirt, a + ab purse

Though I no longer work for H&M, but you'll still be able to find me shopping in one on a weekly basis. I think I went to 3 different H&M's within the past week trying to look for a cardigan for JL. We finally found his size today when we went all the way to Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket to get it. Who would have thought that he's more determined and a little bit more obsessed than me when it comes to getting the right size? I'm pretty sure we used up half the tank of gas. But anyways, during one of those trips (I can't remember which one), I picked up this cute tank top along the way. Even though it's from the previous season, I wouldn't pass it up when I saw the $2 sale price. This tank top is turning out to be one of my favourites.

1) The best gift that I have received thus far: a Nikon D90 from JL. He saved up for about 3 months to pick up this camera for me. Though I got this a few months ago (before my trip to Hong Kong), we actually didn't sit down to build it until this past weekend because we didn't have anytime. The battery have finally been charged and I definitely can't wait to test it out. Though I major in Photography, I still have to refer to the user manual when it comes to operating this camera because I'm so use to my old school film SLRs. Film > Digital.

2) My order from Japan arrived today! Super excited to see the shirts that had I ordered from W♥C. Rina's service was quick, easy and affordable. She's so sweet that she even included little Japanese candies for me to try out. If anyone is interested in ordering anything from Japan or from Japanese sites, I would highly recommend Rina as a personal shopper. She's wonderful!

3) My bathroom needed new shower curtains and I saw this flower print one in Wal-Mart that was too pretty to pass up. It's so perfect for summer.

[REVIEW] - REVLON COLORBURST LIPSTICK IN SOFT NUDE

Mood [Disappointed]
Currently Playing [Hedley - Hands Up]

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Luxurious, rich color that feels virtually weightless.
-Instant burst of rich, true color with a featherlight feel
-Elasticolor™ technology provides immediate color release and hugs lips with a burst of weightless color that feels like a second skin
-Available in range of 20 gorgeous shades

Colour: 070 Soft Nude

FOR BEST RESULT
Apply directly to lips for beautiful, high impact color. Can be worn with or without lipliner. I find that this lipstick can be a little dry, so it's better to wear a lip conditioner underneath. I love using a lip balm or even Vaseline works perfectly!

INGREDIENTS
(unavailable)

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
This lipstick is hands down a must try product from Revlon. This is the best nude lipstick that I own right now because the colour is perfect, it's the perfect nude. It's beyond the Rimmel's Nude Delight that I've been loving until now! The texture is very smooth and the lipstick glides really nicely. I also realize that the finishing of this lipstick is very similar to the MAC Lustre and Glaze. I could hardly notice the difference. Also, the lipstick is very long wearing; it lasts for 3-4 hours without having the re-apply. Another plus is that this lipstick is very, very pigmented. With just one to two swipes, I can get the exact colour of the shade. You can see the photo below: (I only swiped my lips twice with the lipstick)

Not to mention, that I absolutely love the packaging because it's really chic. The words "Revlon" is actually imprinted onto the lipstick, which reminds me of the Chanel lipsticks. It's so pretty and Revlon is really stepping it up. The only con that I found with this lipstick is that the cover of the lipstick can get scratched up really easily. Much like the NARS packaging, it can acquire dirt really easily. But beside this, this product is definitely worth the money. It's very affordable because it's only $9 CAD at Wal-Mart. Even if you are not looking for a nude colour, you should still try the other colours from this collection. I'm planning to buy more from this collection tomorrow.

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [David Crowder Band - O Praise Him]

Bossini Captain America children tshirt, Cotton-on black shorts, from Hong Kong usamimi headband

A pink bunny that JL bought for me when we were still in Hong Kong, which is now one of my favourite stuffed toys. I hug it to sleep on a nightly basis. Yes, I'm still a kid at heart and I don't think that I'll ever grow out of it. I love cute things! On a side note, I really need to do something about my roots. Yuck.

A mini haul from Sephora that I bought a week ago that included the Urban Decay Potion Primer and the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Spray. I've been so busy that I haven't gotten a chance to test out these products yet. But don't worry, reviews of these products will come shortly because I'm really excited to try these. I have heard such amazing things about these products and I'm super hyped to give them a try.

I just use a straightener (This is the one that I have) to curl the front of my bangs. You can simply do this by curving the straightener in an outward motion. Do this a few times and then your bangs will go puffy/curly.I only visit a hair salon every 3 months to get my color touched up and to get a cut. Other than that I cut my own bangs and hair. There are plenty of Youtube videos that you can find on how to cut bangs/hair. My favorite one being kandeejohnson's tutorial.

WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
This is my first time using any cosmetics items from Canmake and I don't love this particular product. The highlight colour is really nice but I find that the other two colours are only okay. It's not as pigmented as I had hoped and the colours are not as bright or vivid as what I had imagined them to be. I can only say this for this trio because I haven't tried any of the only trios from their Glitter Eyes collection. I found that if you wet your brushes, the colours do stay on a little better and there is less fall-out. Here's a photo of the colours:

As you can see, the colours are not that bright considering I had over 4 layers of shadow on each lid. The only reason that I'll purchase this item again is for the white highlight colour and for their cute packagings. Otherwise, I think the Maybelline Eyestudio quads are a lot better than this product.

RATING
Product (3/5) - Not extremely pigmented
Cost (5/5) - $7 CAD is pretty affordable for Japana cosmetics
Ease of Use (5/5)

Concealer Brush
When covering dark under eye areas, concealer should not be applied under the whole eye. This is too heavy for the delicate area and doing so the darkness may be gone but your coverage has become obvious. Lightly press concealer to the inside corner eye area (right beside the bridge of the nose) this will reflect light and brighten where it is dark.

Foundation Brush
Full coverage is not always required. The foundation brush allows you to apply just the right amount of pressure to lightly spot treat areas, blending away imperfections for a more polished finish.

Stipple Brush
The stipple brush allows you to apply both liquid and powder foundation all over your face. This has plenty of control along with being soft, works great with mineral powder application. Application of finishing powders/veil and blush will present a light airbrushed finish.

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
As some of you may recall, I rarely use make-up brushes, which means that I don't have a huge make-up brush collection. I stumbled across these brushes when I was in Wal-Mart shopping for make-up some time last week. I picked up the three most essential brushes for me and have been using them for my foundation (BB cream) and powder application for the past week. Of course, I can't compare them to any of the MAC, Coastal Scents or even the E.L.F brushes because I don't own any of them. However, I must say that I'm loving these brushes at the moment.

Not only were they very affordable but they really give the extra coverage that my sponge applicator was lacking. I never realize what a difference a brush can make for your foundation until now. I have been washing them after every use and so far, no bristles have fallen out. Another great feature is that on the handles of the brushes, it has the name of the brush on it. This means that for make-up brush noobs (like myself), will not confuse or mix the brushes. I'm so happy with this purchase that I'm actually considering going back to purchase a blush brush and then maybe some eyeshadow brushes. These are worth every dollar.

RATING
Product (5/5)
Cost (5/5)
Ease of Use (5/5) - I love how it has the name of the brush on the handle.
Packaging (4/5) - Nothing too fancy.

PS, I'd made an order on W♥C products (they are having a summer sale at the moment) and it just arrived to at the house of my personal shopper, Rina. This is my first time ordering something from Japan and using a personal shopper service. I heard wonderful things about Rina and that was why I decided to give this a try. When I get the items in my hands (I can't wait!), I'll definitely do a full review of her service and also of the items!

FEELING THE SUN FROM BOTH SIDES

Hong Kong striped maxi, H&M corset worn as a belt, Cher purse

Sorry for not updating yesterday, my friends & family and I got caught up watching the World Cup Finals at my house. Prior to the game, we made and bought so much food and snacks. I swear I have never seen that much junk food in my house. In the end, we weren't even close to finishing it all. I can't believe that a month of football has finally come to an end. Now I feel like there's nothing as exciting to watch on TV now. Spain deserved the title as champions. It is, afterall, their first World Cup finals.

Spring shoes

I wanted to show you guys these new shoes that arrived last week. I'm absolutely in love with them. They are so comfortable despite of their height. Believe me when I say that I only paid $20 CAD for them. I have been asked for suggestion on great places to shop in Toronto and to be honest, I do most of my shopping online. You can always find me scrolling the pages of Forever 21, Ebay, ASOS, NastyGal, Go-Jane, Yesstyle, and some Asian bulk clothing online stores. My favourite place to shop for shoes is Spring Shoes. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Spring Shoes: they are a Canadian shoe company that's under the ALDO group. "Spring specializes in the creation of high-quality fashion footwear, leather goods and accessories. This sought-after brand pays close attention to detail and to fine craftsmanship. Spring is dedicated to bringing you both quality and cutting-edge trends at affordable prices, season after season. What's more, Spring's dedicated team of buyers and stylists constantly travel the globe to keep you on the pulse of fashion. Whether the latest footwear trends are breaking in London, Milan, Paris, New York or Tokyo, Spring will have them on your feet first!"

Of course, the quality of their shoes is as good as what you pay for them. I find that with most of them, they are a hit or miss. It's either they are really comfortable or they are absolutely brutal. Of course you can't try them on, so you would have to take your best guess. (Which is why I stick with buying the wedges rather than heels). Their sizes are pretty true (I am a size 6), I haven't encounter any problems with sizing so far. Some of their shoes are quite...ugly...so you really have to shop around for the better pairs. But I can't complain because they are constantly having huge sales (better than in-store offers) and once in a while, they offer free shipping on all orders. I also have to mention that shipping is extremely fast. I usually get my shoes the next day or the latest the following day (Sorry international buyers, I think Spring only ships within Canada). So there you have it, now you know my little secret. You can check out Spring Shoes here!
