1) Bread Papa Sweets is one of my favourite pastry store in Hong Kong. There is almost one inside every MTR station. This store carries mostly ice-cream sandwiches and different types of cream puffs. Now these cream puffs are no ordinary cream puffs, they are HUGE! They also come in a whole bunch of different flavours, such as green tea, tiramisu, chocolate, custard and etc. The price of these cream puffs ranges from $10 HKD to $18 HKD. The more filling the puff has, the more expensive it is.

2) These are the two flavour that JL and I decided to try: chocolate and tiramisu. As you can see, these cream puffs are the size of my hand! They are super filling and super yummy!

3) The streets of 尖沙咀 (Tsim Sha Tsui). It's already not that busy on that day. If I had taken the photo on a Sunday, the streets would have been packed!

PS, I will be living with my other aunt for the next few days, thus, I'll have no access to the Internet. I'll try to reply everyone as soon as I get a hold of a computer. This means that updates will be slow as well.

PPS, don't forget to enter my giveaway, which ends in 8 hours for Dolly Wink prizes. Follow the link on the side bar!
I will pick the winner asap and a new giveaway will be posted up for June as well.

うさ耳 U-SA-MI-MI

Mood [Warm]
Currently Playing [Hillsong - At The Cross]

These "Bunny Ears" or うさ耳 are becoming more and more popular. Not only have I seen them in Japanese magazines, such as Popteen and ViVi, but I'm also starting to notice them on the streets of Hong Kong. What's so special about these ears is that they have a metal wire inside the cloth. That means you are able to style them into whatever shape that you want. Here is a short video I found on Youtube interviewing Japanese girls about this bunny ear headwear. (Sorry the video is in Japanese, but you can probably guess what they are saying):

I was able to purchase three (one floral print, one denim with lace & one pink with polka dots) bunny ears headbands from Mong Kok Centre. I'm thinking about including one of these headbangs for my June's giveaway because I think these headbands are so adorable! Which one do you like the best?

PS, sorry for my make-up free face. I got lazy today! haha!

PATIENTLY PICKING UP BROKEN FRAGMENTS

Mood [Thankful]
Currently Playing [東方神起 DBSK - 時ヲ止メテ]

1) From the last few posts, you can see that one of my favourite things to do in Hong Kong is to eat! I don't like eating anything fancy or anything too expensive. It's actually the simple things that make me happy. I absolutely love eating street food in Hong Kong such as curry fish balls, smelly tofu, deep fried squid, and basically anything that's potentially harmful to my health. Haha! Above all, I love these little, with a lack of a better name, "bag" snacks.

2) Basically there are a whole bunch of stuff in small bags that you can put into your big bag. They have over 20 different items, ranging from different types of noodles, to squid, to corn, to octopus, to intestines, to cucumbers and so much more. Each small bag or each item cost $2.5 HKD. (Sadly 2 years ago, it was $1 HKD per bag) In my bag, I had 4 items: the rice noodle, seaweed, corn and octopus. Then after you have chosen what you want, you can tell the person to add either garlic sauce, hot sauce or both to mix into your larger bag. In mine, I only had the garlic one. After that, you are ready to eat.

3) They always give you two long sticks that you can use as chopsticks to eat with. It's a pretty decent snack for $10 HKD, which is less than $2 CAD.

4) SOGO, which is a Japanese department store that is very popular in Hong Kong is having a 25th Anniversary Sale in both the Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui location (from May 21 till May 30). For those of you who are unfamiliar with SOGO, the store pretty much carries all the big name brands (Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood & etc) and it also carries cosmestic counters (SKII, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Shiseido, Shu Uemura & etc) and other clothing brands (Liz Lisa, Jill Stuart, Bread n' Butter, Mango, FCUK & etc). But honestly, I have never seen that many people all in the same place. All the girls there are crazy going for the sale items! I must admit, the sales are pretty amazing! They offer 10% discount on everything, even on Gucci stuff. Additionally, they have daily specials that keeps the customers coming back everyday. The prices are quite ridiculous. After spending around an hour there, I was able to pick up this Agnes B purse from the sale for only $690 HKD.

5) I also got this yellow Juicy Girl purse for only $299 HKD. All these light-coloured purses are just in time for the summer months.

LOVE NEVER DIES A NATURAL DEATH

Mood [Hot]
Currently Playing [S.H.E - 說你愛我]

H&M striped tee & jeggings, Birkenstock clogs, vintage neckace

1) Hello Kitty eating a hawaiian pizza at Pizzahut. I thought that they Hong Kong Pizzahut wasn't as good as the Pizzahut in Toronto. Maybe that's because the pizza was less oily and less fatty. Haha!

2) The chicken fingers were suppose to be our starter. But clearly, you can see that it didn't arrive until we got our dessert. They had forgotten about our starter and gave it to us after we had finished out main course.

3) This was my reaction when the server told us that they had ran out of chocolate ice-cream. (Haha, I kid you not) Our dessert was replaced with these two very small cream puffs and they weren't even that good. As you can tell, dessert is my favourite part of any meal.

4) The lame cream puffs that were suppose to replace our ice-cream.

5) I was making fun of my friend who had recently grew a mustache. We all hated it and we all told him to shave it off. Haha, and yes, I did send him the photo just to rub it in some more.

6) Unicorn Gundam! haha!

7) JL immitating me.

8) North Point MTR station. I have never seen an empty and people-free subway station before. It was definitely a picture worthy moment. I'm pretty sure that we hung around the station for at least 10 minutes just to take some more photos. Haha!

PS, thank you everyone for all your comments that were concerning my health. I'm happy to say that after taking all those pills, my flu has completely been healed. I guess it was worth taking that many pills after all. Thank you all once again!

YOU'RE NOT LIVING LIFE ON THE EDGE

Mood [Pleased]
Currently Playing [None]

1) Crepe-to-go? No problem, wrap it up and take it around with you. I thought this was such a smart way to make this dessert portable and sellable. There were so many different flavours and in the end I decided to stick with the banana chocolate one.

2) JL attempted to take a candid photo of me as I was eating my crepe. However, because he took such a long time to operate my camera (and it wasn't even my Nikon D90), I already knew that he was trying to take a photo of me and I was trying hard to hold back my laughter.

3) It has been raining like crazy for the past few days in Hong Kong. JL had to buy this huge umbrella from 7-Eleven so we would both fit under it. I swear that umbrella can withstand anything.

4) Engrish worthy?

5) Though I've only had minor flu-like symptoms for the past 3 days, but look at the ridiculous amount of pills I had to take. Yes, you take them all at once: the instructions I got was to take one pill per package per every 4 hours. I swear, I've never taken that many pills of that many colours in my entire lifetime.

PPS, I want to give a HUGE thanks to Kim for the Sweet Blog award! It must be because of all the sweet food photos that I've been blogging about lately! Haha!

COLLAPSING GALAXIES FEATHERED WITH FALLING STARS

Mood [Hot]
Currently Playing [Azu - For You]

Face of the Day:
Face:
-Beauty Credit Lovely Q10 Make Up Base Moist SPF 18 in 02 Lavender
-Gowoonsesang BB Cream SPF 30
-Physicians Formula mineral powder in Natural Beige
Eyes:
-Kiss Me Herioine Make Impact Liquid Eye Liner in A01 Black
-Arezia Glitter Eyeliner Pencil in 01 Black and 04 White, purchased from SaSa
-Fiber Wig Paint-On False Lashes Extra Long mascara in 209 Black
-New eyelashes (both top and bottom) bought from Mong Kok, Hong Kong
Lips:
-Aquafina Flavour Splash Lip Balm in Wild Berry
-Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 700 Nude Delight

My first time using botton false lashes. These were much harder to apply than what I had expected. You definitely needed to use a tweezer and definitely needed clear glue to apply the bottom lashes. I also cut one single bottom lash into 6 smaller pieces, thus, making them appear more natural. Also, make sure you leave yourself with plenty of time to apply these bottom lashes. It took me twice as long to apply the lower ones in comparison to the top ones. (Maybe I'm just not use to it yet)

I bought some new make-up from SaSa recently, which includes a new purple colour make-up base and the famous Fiberwig mascara. I will do a full review on some of the products later. The purple make-up base is suppose to make your skin look lighter before applying on the foundation or in my case, bb cream. It's really true to its claim. Also, I must say that I'm super pleased with the Fiberwig mascara. Like most reviews, I have so much good things to say about it. It's the best mascara I've used to date and I'm usually really hard to please when it comes to mascaras. It really makes your lashes, SUPER LONG! I love it! I'm thinking about including this mascara in my June giveaway because I love it that much. Do you want to try it?

However, on a sad note, the Heroine Make liquid eyeliner is not that great. It smudges a lot and doesn't stay on for the entire day. I have to keep applying extra coats throughout the day. I miss my old L'oreal Paris Lineur Intense eyeliner. Like I said, full reviews of these products will come later.

A NEW FRIEND

Mood [Sick]
Currently Playing [Backstreet Boys - As Long As You Love Me]

1) A new stuffed animal that JL bought for me in Hong Kong. His name is Yeopawka. I saw him in Jusco and couldn't resist getting him even though he cost $210 HKD, which is around $30 CAD. His ears are so big that they remind me of Dumbo's. Haha! He puts a smile on my face when I look at him.

2) Hello Kitty's first movie in Hong Kong with JL and Felix. Unlike Toronto, Hong Kong theatres offer sweet caramel or chocolate flavour popcorn rather than buttered ones. You can even mix both caramel and chocolate flavour together. Sweet popcorn are more popular in Hong Kong rather than salty ones. These caramel popcorn taste different comparing to the ones in Canada. I don't know why, but I like to eat these ones a lot more than the sweet popcorn in Canada. They are more crispier and crunchier. I'm usually not a big fan of sweet popcorn, other than the ones from the theatres in Hong Kong. If you ever get a chance to go to Hong Kong, you must give these popcorn a taste.

I'M THE MURDERER

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [DBSK - Lovin' You]

Just another few photos that I took when JL and I were wondering around Causeway Bay (銅鑼灣) and Wan Chai (灣仔).

1) These machines are one of my favourite things in Hong Kong. They are literally everywhere! I go home with a box of these little toys everytime I come back to Hong Kong.

2) All the different types and styles that you can get. If you notice, each cost around $15 HKD, which is around $2 CAD. So it's not that much cheaper than the ones in Canada. However, there are so much more choices. You can get anything from Gundam figures, to Mario Bros, to Hello Kitty, to other kawaii Japanese characters.

3) A new key chain: Kirby! He now has a new home on my camera strap. As some of you may know, I'm addicted to Super Smash and Kirby is my favourite character.

4) A place in Wan Chai (灣仔) where people can bring their remote controlled cars and race...seriously. They race with toy cars! And apparently it's really popular in Hong Kong as well. I have actually never heard of this until now. I'm learning something new everyday that I'm here.

5) Pretty floors that have lights on the buttom. Those feet belonged to a random couple.

6) Hello Kitty's first meal at Mcdonald's. Can you believe that they have taro pies in Hong Kong? JL and I are suckers for Mcd's, even in Canada. It's our little secret.

My friend took this photo of me for one of the colour photography assignments. I had completely forgotten about this picture until I saw it again on her blog. I miss that class. I miss my film camera. I miss the dark room. I think I need to shoot some photos...now.

TOKYO LASH BAR

Mood [Full]
Currently Playing [None]

Came across this display for Shu Uemura in 又一城 (Festival Walk). It's one of the prettiest displays that I have ever seen. From the pink to the glitter to the diamonds, everything screams gyaru! The new lashes by Shu Uemura are extremely impressive, but I can never imagine actually wearing them. I don't think I can keep my eyes open because the lashes would be weighing my eyes down. They are very pretty to look at, but not very functional or for daily wear.

JL and I have been mall-hopping for the past few days. I love how there's a mall outside very MTR station. Makes it so easy to find a place to shop and we never run out of places to go. We'll be heading to Disneyland on Monday, can't wait to see all my princess and animal friends! =)

Have you seen the new lashes 2010 lashes by Shu Uemura?

QUARRY BAY

Mood [Ditzy]
Currently Playing [Radiohead - High & Dry]

1) My main source of transportation for the next two months: the MTR. Fast, easy and convenient, it's close to impossible to get lost in Hong Kong.

2) Quarry Bay Station. If the TTC in Toronto was anywhere near this advance and clean, I wouldn't mind taking it on a daily basis. TTC should really consider installing those glass doors to prevent people from falling or being pushed into the rails. It's a safety hazard.

3) The only things that were purchased today were two t-shirts and a vest from Uniqlo, all of which belongs to JL. He love that store only because they carry a numerous of Gundam and anime tees.

4) We both only brought with us shoes that we do not plan on taking back to Canada. If your shoes have been treading around the grounds of Hong Kong for 2 months, you wouldn't want to keep them either. I plan on totally destroying these.

5) Inside the MTR. Yes, the floor is spotless. That's probably because food and drinks are not allowed on the train. And yes, people do follow the rules. Trust me, once you bring food into the train, people will stare. They will stare hard and you will never want to eat on the train ever again. And finally yes, there is a lighted display that shows where the train is now, where the train is heading to and where all the interchange stations are. This just makes the TTC look completely ancient.

6) An afternoon snack at a Chinese fast food resturant, one of many in Hong Kong. You can never go wrong with a Onion Pork Burger and a glass of cold Hong Kong style tea that only cost a mere $3 CAD. If Hello Kitty has a mouth, she'll be smiling : )
