[REVIEW] - MAYBELLINE EYESTUDIO SAPPHIRE SIREN

Mood [Confused]
Currently Playing [DBSK - My Destiny]

Maybelline Eyestudio in Sapphire Siren

WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
Rich color. Smooth feel. Very pigmented. Blends easily. Silky & luminous finish. Very easy to use/apply. Low cost ($10 CAD).

These eyeshadows remind me of some Japanese brands of eyeshadow such as Kate or Majolica Majorca because of the soft texture and glowy colour. I also really like the packaging because once again it looks almost like some Japanese cosmetic packagings. Though the colours are sheer, it is buildable. I find that it is better to apply by patting on the eyeshadow rather than sweeping because the texture is so soft. Better to use your finger to blend/apply rather than a brush.

The only problem that I have with this product is that it doesn't last very long without a primer or base. I think around 4 hours the colour will begin to fade.

I will definitely buy this product again!

Forever 21 vest, skirt & shoes, DBSK encore concert cartoon JaeJoong shirt

This outfit was clearly not warm enough for last night's weather. I had to switch the skirt for pants the moment I stepped out of the house. Luckily, I only had to go to school and work, then to JL's house. My usual friday nights consist of bumming around JL's house with deliveries and Super Smash Bros. Exciting I know...

Three hours of sleep last night and I still manage to wake up to get to work. However, my brain is dead. I'm scheduled for a driving lesson (For my G Licence) at 4:30pm today, don't know how I'll muster enough energy for it. Can't think of anything interesting to write so I'm just going to keep it short. Have a great Saturday!

PS, Are there any DBSK/TVXQ fans out there? I swear JaeJoong was my first love.

[REVIEW] - H&M GARDEN COLLECTION

Mood [Cold]
Currently Playing [None]

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, had to take the picture with my cell phone camera)

I'm sad to annouce that the highly anticipated Garden Collection from H&M has been a disappointment for me. I purposely went to the mall at 10am, before my classes, to check out the collection. I tried on everything (around 12 pieces) from the collection that was availabe in the Scarbrough Town Centre H&M, but left the store empty handed.

I know that the point of the collection is to create sustainable clothings. (Hurray for H&M) With that in the mind, the entire collection is made out of recycled and organic materials. However, the material is not that good. All the peach colour garments that I had tried on were all see-through. Keep in mind that I was already wearing nude undergarments.

Second, the garment sizes were too big! I tried on the smallest size, size 2 & XS, and all the pieces still look like they are about to fall off. I know that this is not H&M's fault, but this contributed to my disappointment. Also, the length of all the dresses were so awkward on me because I'm short. Though the prices were so great, most dresses were only $19.95, I decided not to buy any. Plus, the gorgeous $19.95 kimono dress just wasn't my style.

Lastly, the only piece that I actually considered buying was the ruffle tube dress. However, it was priced at $59.95, which is $20 more than the red fluffy dress and is more basic and simple. Even with my staff discount, I still thought it wasn't worth it. So I ditched the idea of buying it right away.

Well, I have work later today, maybe I'll see if there are anything left or anything that I haven't tried on at my store. I'll update this post at the end of the day! Stay tune!

UPDATE: Nope, I still didn't like anything from this collection at my store. However, the key pieces from this collection have already been sold out all over! That means other people must have liked it!

Did you check out the Garden Collection?

[REVIEW] - DOLLY WINK BY TSUBASA MASUWAKA

Mood [Tired]
Currently Playing [DBSK - Stand By U]

I'm a sucker for anything that's pink and has a bow on it. Dolly Wink by Tsubasa Masuwaka 益若つばさ, I think defines cuteness. When I opened the package I received today to find my Dolly Wink eyelash case, I was estatic! I had to photograph it and blog about it right away! (and of course, put all my false lashes in it). I've been looking for a storage case for all my false lashes for such a long time and when I came across this case, I had to buy it. This case is an easy way to store and to carry your false lashes with you. It'll come in handy when I go on vacation in May. It even has a divider where you can separate your top lashes from your lower lashes. It's so CUTE! (^.^)

The Dolly Wink line (came out last November) consists of several different fake eyelash sets with names like “Baby Cute”, “Dolly Sweet”, “Sweet Girly” and “Pure Little”. Both top lashes and lower lashes are available in this collection. There are also eyeliners (liquid & pencil), eyelash glue and the eyelash storage case available – all in insanely cute packaging, of course. The motto for Dolly Wink is: "Every girl can become a doll! For the girl who wants to be Otona Kawaii (大人可愛い) , it's a present from Tsubasa". Here's some photos of the other items:

For those of you who don't know Tsubasa Masuwaka 益若つばさ, here's a quick bio: she is also known as TSUBASA, she models in magazines like Popteen and Egg. Tsubasa started her singing career in 2007 singing her first song "Magic to Love" on the compilation album "Gazen Parapara!! presents Campus Summit 2007". Masuwaka also has a clothing brand called LIZ LISA.

Sadly, I haven't purchased anything else from this collection because it's so over-priced on Ebay. I'll wait till I go back to Hong Kong in May to get my hands on the rest of the products! I can't wait! (^__^) I've read amazing reviews about the eyeliners, I must try them out!

Here's her website, however it's only available in Japanese.

FLY AWAY, FLY AWAY, FLY TO THE CLOUDS

Mood [Nervious]
Currently Playing [DBSK - Stand Up!]

I purchased this lash boosting serum by L'oreal last weekend. I wanted to buy it since I saw it in an issue of ELLE Canada. It claims that it'll make your lashes fuller and prevents lash loss during make-up removal. You have to apply it twice daily before you apply your mascara and before going to bed for about 4 weeks to see the results.

What's Inside?
-A unique pro-keratin complex of fortifying amino acids, panthenol and ceramide. It boosts your lash appearance, making your lashes smoother and shinier.
-Argin, one of the principal amino acids found in keratin (the main component of hair and lashes), known to reinforce and protect.

I'll write a full review about it in a month or so. However, I've already notice that if you put too much on your lashes and it goes into your eyes, it really stings! So be very careful to only use a small amount when applying. So stay tune for this review! ^__~

H&M - GARDEN COLLECTION SPRING '10

Mood [Happy]
Currently Playing [Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow]

H&M has given me another reason to be happy that spring is on its way. The new Garden Collection modeled by Natasha Poly - is not only flirty and fresh, but it is sustainable. Living in a world where sustainability has become quite a hot debate, every piece from this collection was designed using organic materials, recycled PET bottles or textile waste. Who would have imagined that discarded and unwanted waste would be turned into girly chiffon frocks, garden print tops, red blazers and crisp linen shorts? Help support a more sustainable earth. Good planets are hard to find!

The collection is available in selected H&M stores across the world starting March 18th 25th.

Ps, happy first weekend of spring!

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING, ANY ROAD WILL TAKE YOU THERE

Mood [Super Tired]
Currently Playing [Enrique Iglesias Ft. Ciara - Taking Back My Love]

1) These are the different pink lipsticks that I own that are available in your local drug stores. Here's an anecdote, I can't wear any other colour lipstick other than different shades of pink. I've tried everything else, but all the other colours make me look so old. I've always wanted to pull off bright red lips, but I look horrible. I blame the shape of my thick and tiny lips =/ However, if you are looking for pink shades, I definitely recommend these shades by Maybelline, Cover Girl and Rimmel.

2) Swatches for the lipsticks mentioned above. The Maybelline one is pretty similar to the Rimmel one. However, my favourite one is still the Maybelline "Pink Please". It looks so natural on and it has a really nice smell to it. Haha! The taste is also different from other lipsticks. It has kind of a sweet taste, which I really like. I hate that really regular lipstick taste.

3) A package came for me last week from Forever 21 and these were inside. (Thanks to the free shipping code I received last weekend, I didn't have to spend over $75) Very excited about my two light jackets, they arrived just in time for the spring weather. The pink bow headband is so cute that I couldn't resist buying it. I think I have more than 10+ bow headbands, but there is always room for more.

W♥C SPRING CATALOGUE SCANS

Mood [Okay]
Currently Playing [None]

Here are some scans from W♥C Spring Catalogue. My style is highly influenced by Japanese designers/fashion. One of my favourite brand is definitely W♥C by Chinatsu Wakatsuki. It's so girly and cute that I can't help but love it! It's just sad that most of the items I can never find in Canada. I would have to order from either Yahoo auction Japan or have someone in Japan buy the items for me. But after seeing this catalogue, I really want to buy a pair of overalls and those oversize bows! I also love those hair bows, they are so CUTE!

I have the entire magazine available for download, if anyone is interested please let me know. You can also visit her site: English or Japanese

FORGIVENESS IS A VIRTUE OF THE BRAVE

Mood [Full]
Currently Playing [DBSK - NO?]

1) My eyes of the day. I only use the glue from Shu Uemura for my false lashes. It's the best glue I have tried so far. It looks like white glue but it dries clear. I also heard that they have a new type now that just came out, which is a black type of glue (Has anyone tried it yet? Let me know if you have!). I always buy the glue from Hong Kong when I go back, it cost less than $3 CAD for a tube that can last for a year.

2) One of my many sets of false eyelashes. These ones I find are more dolly-like. They are not as natural and more for special occasions rather than everyday wear. I hate buying lashes from Canada, they are so expensive and I find that there isn't much difference in quality. I also don't mind using synthetic lashes, I actually find them easier to wash and clean. I always stock up on a LOT everytime I go back to Hong Kong, or get them from Pacific Mall or you can even order them on Ebay. On average a box of 10 lashes only cost $3-5 CAD, which is very affordable! Ask me about my favourite Ebay sellers for falsh lashes. I know tons of sellers with all kinds of lashes.

3) Quo Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - I finally found an eye pencil that's just with sparkle! I love using sparkles on my eyes, it makes my eyes so much brighter and larger. I've been looking for one just like this ever since I finished the last one, which was over a few years ago. This one works really great for lining the bottom of your eyes. Thank you Sandy for telling me about this one.

THE ABSENCE OF FLAW IN BEAUTY IS ITSELF A FLAW

Mood [Sick]

H&M jean shirt, Ebay tights that looks like over-knee stockings, Forever 21 bow accessory, Spring shoes

The change of weather in Toronto has been so crappy! It's so nice and warm in the morning/afternoon and then it turns so cold at night. It's gotten be sick! I can't completely blame the weather for it though: the lack of sleep and eating tons of junk food has definitely contributed to my sickness. =( Finishing that last bag of Mini Eggs from work last night did not help at all!

I saw Shutter Island two nights ago. Sadly, it was not as great as other Leonardo Dicaprio movies. Though I'm a huge fan of his, the movie didn't deliver.

Ps, I have a free shipping code for Forever 21 Canada, if anyone is interested, contact me! : )

I want to thank Serena for giving me the BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER award. You rock my world!
